Chanel Tapper, a student from California, has amazed the world with her incredibly long tongue which measures 9.75 cm (3.8 inches) from the tip to the middle of her lip. This unique trait earned her the Guinness World Record for the longest tongue (female), a title she has proudly held since 2010. Tapper enjoys the reactions her tongue elicits. “I love it when people get such a shock that they scream in horror,” she said in an interview with Guinness World Records. To put its length into perspective, her tongue is about the size of an iPhone — roughly twice as long as the average human tongue. The attention she has received over the years has led to viral videos and appearances on various platforms, where she happily showcases her unusual feature. One user commented, “I wouldn’t even want to show this off,” while another compared it to the tongue of the Marvel character Venom. A curious netizen asked, “How is it measured? Is it horizontally or vertically?” Tapper, on her part, fully embraces her uniqueness. “I like little fun, silly things like that. That’s what makes my tongue the most fun—when I can do things that are outside the box with it,” she shared. “My favourite thing about being a record holder has to be when I get to travel and meet other record holders as well,” she added. Among men, the record for the longest tongue belongs to Nick Stoeberl from the US, whose tongue measures an impressive 10.1 cm (3.97 inches). It is so long that he can even lick his elbow—something most people believe is impossible.
