Amid Donald Trump’s ‘hate’, Stephen King says Taylor Swift’s music makes him happy; Elon Musk chips in

After Donald Trump, the US Republican Party presidential candidate, declared his “hate” for Taylor Swift, the pop singer is receiving support from several celebrities. On Monday, American author Stephen King supported Swift which sparked chatter on social media, and also prompted a reaction from Elon Musk.

“I love Taylor Swift. Her music makes me happy. End of story,” King wrote on X.

Elon Musk was quick enough to respond to it. “What are your fav TS songs?” the Tesla CEO commented.

The now-viral post spurred a pool of reactions. While a section of social media users lauded Swift, many criticised her for “always choosing the wrong person.” A user wrote, “I love Taylor Swift. I’ve never listened to her music, but her heroism in standing up for democracy makes me proud. Her story continues.” Another user commented, “Trump is an idiot for underestimating Taylor Swift and the Swifties.”

“80% of Taylor swift songs are explaining how she regrets choosing the wrong person,” a third user reacted.

On Sunday, Donald Trump attacked Taylor Swift after she endorsed Kamala Harris for the upcoming US presidential election. In an all-caps Truth Social post, Trump wrote, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT.”

Last week, Swift announced she would cast a vote for Democratic Party candidate Harris and her running mate Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
