Move over Hillary Clinton, the US presidential election just got a younger candidate who’s got one agenda that has piqued interests everywhere. You might not have heard of 28-year-old rapper Waka Flocka Flames, but he’s decided to run for the 2016 US Presidential Race. And why does everyone care? Well because Waka has promised to legalise marijuana aka pot in the country.

Hillary Clinton make have taken to social media to announce that she was in the race, but it would appear that Waka has stolen some of the limelight, mostly due to his video announcement for the post of Presidency.

The video, which appeared exclusively on Rolling Stone, has a pretty drunk-sounding Waka Flocka making the announcement that he will run for President, with DJ Whoo Kid as his running partner. “The first thing I plan to do in office is to legalise marijuana,” declares Waka, which pretty much sums up the agenda that he has in mind. Oh and if you thought he was joking in the video, well he tweeted out the same as well.

The video also has shots of Waka doing marijuana and using language that won’t really suit a future president.

It should be noted that Waka Flocka had expressed this ambition to run for president in 2012 as well. Check out his tweet from back then.

Sadly for Waka, the US constitution says one needs to be at least 35 years of age before running for President. But never mind that, Twitter seems to love his announcement. His latest tweet got retweeted 3.9k times and hashtags like #WakaforAmerica and #WakaforPresident already trending on Twitter.

We’ll have to wait and watch how Waka’s campaign unfolds. Meanwhile he’s already taken the idea of Barack Obama’s 2008 ‘Hope’ posters and has put his face on the posters.
