Bose has always made products for a niche segment and even though their products command a premium price,it is justified by their performance. With the AE2,Bose provides a superb upgrade to its Triport headphones.
The AE2 is a circumaural full sized headphone that comes in a classy silver black colour. The headphone uses the Triport acoustic headphone structure that reproduces tonally balanced audio with deep low notes from lightweight,around-ear headphones. The ear-cushions are made of durable quality and can be easily replaced thanks to the advanced design. The earcup cushions are held in place by a mounting flange which snaps under 8 small tabs located around the inside rim of each earcup. To replace or reattach a cushion,it just takes a slight push on the flange to snap the cushion back on the earcup.
In terms of performance, the Bose AE2 stands up to the expectations. Although, they dont feature noise isolation, the design and the sound output makes the ear cups perform in a way to isolate the external sound. The sound output from the headphones is simply spectacular in terms of clarity and volume. I loved the deep bass output and excellent treble that the headphones offered. The output was great across music genres and the clarity in vocals while watching a movie was brilliant.
The Bose AE2 headphones are priced at Rs 8,100,which is steep for an average consumer and in the same price you can get some amazing offerings from Sennheiser. However,Bose products are aimed at a more niche audience and on that point, the AE2 provide an excellent replacement for the Bose Triport headphones and are highly recommended if you looking at Bose offerings.
