Following the trend of launching affordable versions of its flagship smartphone, LG recently introduced its G4 Beat and G4 Stylus. Just like the earlier G3 Beat and G3 Stylus. Both the devices are stripped down versions of the original G4 and shares the same design but is made of plastic. As the name suggests, the device comes with a stylus. So, if you like the flagship G4 but cannot afford it, should you consider buying the G4 Stylus? Here is the review. LG G4 Stylus The G4 Stylus might be among the very few to offer a stylus currently. However, its does not have any particular use. On paper, the G4 Stylus has nothing amazing to justify its price apart from a 5.7-inch display which is again average at best. Overall, there is nothing great to woo a buyer who is looking to buy a decent smartphone priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000. While the spec sheet may give you a feeling that smartphone should have been priced around Rs 12,000, the sad part is that the G4 Stylus cannot even match the user experience delivered by others in that price range. Specs: 5.7-inch 720p HD display | 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor | 1GB RAM | 8GB ROM (up to 32GB expandable) | 13MP rear camera | 5MP front camera | 4G support | 3,000 mAh battery Price: Rs 21,000 What is good? While the UI to common to almost all LG phones, the device runs smoothly on regular usage and is friendly except for occasional lags. The battery life of the device is decent. Overall, there is nothing much to like in this device, especially after paying Rs 21,000. What is not that good? The stylus is of very little use. After the kind of innovation we have seen from Samsung in the stylus department for its Note series, the stylus in this smartphone feels like a metal stick. While the display is big, it is certainly not pleasing. Also, the camera is of poor quality and images are grainy. I also witnessed some problems with the signal reception on this smartphone and it certainly was not my operator's fault. Verdict: To cut a long story short, the LG G4 Stylus is not recommended for this price point.
