CS: Go is the most prominent first-person shooter video game in the modern world. Valve, the studio behind the title has now officially announced the successor — Counter-Strike 2 as a free upgrade to the CS: Go players. Counter-Strike 2 is currently in the limited testing phase and is built on top of CS: Go with improved maps, graphics, and a lot of new features.
Counter-strike go was the fourth instalment in the Counter-Strike series, launched back in 2012, which became very popular amongst the gaming community. In 2020, when Riot Games launched Valorant, which is also a free-to-play game, a lot of CS: Go users started to shift mainly due to the improved graphics quality with more in-game features and abilities, which made CS: Go look like a dinosaur.
With the launch of CS: 2, Valve is trying to win them over by offering high-fidelity graphics. Some of the prominent features of Counter-strike 2 include smoke grenades that are dynamic volumetric objects and can interact with the environment and fill spaces naturally and they can also react with light.
When compared to the CS: Go, the CS: 2 has more detailed maps with HD textures, light reflections, and realistic materials. Guns and weapons have been updated to high-resolution models and the game even claims to offer accurate audio. Valve will unveil the full details of Counter-strike 2 in Summer 2023, and the game will be available for free, at least for CS: Go players.
