Tesla recently rolled out the FSD V12.5.3 update for its cars, making its Actually Smart Summon feature available to everyone.

Unveiled years ago, Elon Musk had previously admitted the feature was still far from its hype after users bumped their vehicles into other cars or obstacles. This came to limelight after a Tesla crashed into a $3.5 million private jet in 2022.

For those not in the know, Actually Smart Summon allows users to order their vehicles to drive to their location using the ‘Come to Me’ feature in the Tesla app for smartphones. This is similar to what Tony Stark (Iron Man) did in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Tesla also added a new ‘Go to target’ feature that lets you choose a spot on the map and press a button to send the car to that location. The company says users can halt their journey anytime by simply letting go of the button.

The company also unveiled Dumb Summon, which, as the name suggests, lets Tesla owners move their car forward or backwards using the app. While these may sound futuristic, Tesla suggests users should only use this feature when in driveways or parking lots and that the user will be responsible for any mishaps.

In a future update, Tesla says it will allow users to summon their cars without having to continuously press the button and increase the range. The new functionalities are currently available in Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y.
