Skype, Microsoft Corporation’s online telephone and video service, said on Monday that some users are unable to make calls because their settings show that they and their contacts are offline, even when they are logged in. Affected users are unable to change their status, but they can use instant messaging and Skype for Web services, Skype said.

“We’re working on a fix for this issue and hope to have an update for you soon,” Skype said in a blog post.

The company in its blog said, “We have identified the network issue which prevented users from logging in and using Skype today. We’re in the process of reconnecting our users, and focused on restoring full service. The issue did not affect Skype for Business users. ”

Users from different parts of the world are reporting about this outage. As per Downdetector.com, which checks for service outages and interruptions, Skype is still down and users from Romania, Egypt, Norway, India, Canada, New Zealand are reporting about the outage.
