Samsung recently announced that it is now rolling out One UI 7 on supported devices. Based on Android 15, the update brings a ton of new AI features alongside a redesigned user interface. The South Korean tech giant says One UI 7 integrates “leading AI agents and multimodal capabilities into every touch point of the interface.” Here’s a quick look at some One UI 7 features.

New AI features

Similar to Apple Intelligence’s writing tools, One UI 7 now lets users leverage the power of generative AI models to summarize, spell and grammar check and format content into bullet points. These writing tools can be used without leaving the current app and are available in all text fields.

Samsung also unveiled a new feature that lets you automatically generate transcripts of calls in 20 languages, eliminating the hassle of manually taking notes.

Redesigned user interface

One UI 7 also brings lots of changes to the user interface. On the lock screen, you will see a ‘Now Bar’, which offers instant access to important information and a bunch of AI features like Interpreter and Music. The company says the functionality “reduces the need to constantly unlock the device.”

It will be available on support on upcoming Galaxy S series devices, but there is no information if the feature is coming to existing devices. The company has also made some changes to the home screen and widgets.

Another huge change is that the camera settings like buttons, controls and modes are now reorganised to “make it easier to find the features you need”, all the while giving users a clearer preview of the viewfinder. On the Pro and Pro video modes, the manual settings layout has now been simplified, so you can easily focus on the subject or control the zoom.
