Samsung India has introduced new features to Bixby that let users get updates on cricket matches, tournaments, points tables, and schedules with just their voice.
Cricket fans can now ask Bixby questions like “What’s the score?”, “Show the world cup points table”, or “Show me upcoming matches” and get instant answers with the latest information. These features are available to all Bixby users without any additional installation or download. Samsung believes that Bixby Cricket will enhance the passion of cricket lovers in India and help them stay connected with the game even when they are busy with other activities.
“Samsung believes that Bixby Cricket would be a great solution for cricket lovers to stay updated with the latest scores and tournaments just through their voice. Users can get updates even while driving, working, cooking, or doing any other activity that requires their attention,” said Balaji Hariharan, Senior Director and Head of Product Management, Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore.
Bixby has come a long way since launching as an intelligent voice assistant on Samsung devices. It is now an open AI platform available across many Samsung products and appliances. Recent upgrades like adding Indian English in 2021 have made Bixby more contextual and meaningful for Indian consumers by understanding Indian names, places, relationships, content, and recipes among others.
If Bixby is set as the default assistant on your Samsung phone, you can launch it by pressing and holding the power key or saying “Hi, Bixby.” If not set as default, you can do so via the Bixby app shortcut in the app drawer.
