The Nothing Phone 2a has been confirmed to launch on March 5. (Image: OnLeaks/Smartprix)Nothing’s got an affordable sequel set to launch on March 5 that brings their signature transparent vibe to a wider audience. Tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer has shared several renders showing off the Nothing Phone 2a.
This more affordable model was previously revealed by the company to still be an upgrade over the Nothing Phone 1. And now, it turns out that design will be wildly different from both Nothing Phone 1 and 2. The biggest tweak is the revamped rear camera module. Gone are the vertically stacked lenses of the previous two models, replaced by a more distinctive circular, centrally-aligned island.

Nestled within this new camera island sits a pair of sensors framed by a pill-shaped cutout. The surrounding concentric grooves lend the module an almost cyber-organic aesthetic that stays true to Nothing’s design DNA. There are at least three LED lights packed into the rear chassis to keep those signature Glyph lighting antics alive and well.
Beyond the flashy camera revamp, the 2a seems to be following fairly closely in its pricier siblings’ footsteps. We’re looking at flat rails and a centered punch-hole selfie cam. Dimensions are tipped to come in at a fairly compact 162.2 x 76.5 x 8.7mm.

Unfortunately, the metal frames from its pricier siblings seem to have been ditched for a more humble plastic frame – or at least that’s what the lack of antenna lines in these renders seem to suggest. However, the Nothing Phone 1 was one of the very few models – if not the only – to feature a metal frame at its price when it made its debut, so we hope the company pulls it off again.

Under the hood, Nothing has confirmed that Phone 2a will feature a step up to a Dimensity 7200 Pro chip rather than the usual 7200. SmartPrix also speculates dual 50MP rear cams (an S5KG9 main and JN1 ultrawide), a 32MP selfie shooter, and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging support.
Other rumoured specs include up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, NFC, an AI wallpaper generator, Android 14 with Nothing’s customized Nothing OS 2.5.2 skin, and an IP54 dust/water resistance rating, according to the same source. Meanwhile, the expected price is Rs 23,999, according to some. Other sources are playing it safer, marking it in the ballpark of <Rs 30,000.
