Microsoft is working on a new app that will read out news to users
Microsoft is reportedly testing an app that curates the news stories from various sources and reads out article summaries.
The app, first spotted by Neowin, will be called NewsCast and it will take in articles from around the web and will start reading news summaries to users in the form of a playlist. Users will also be able to save articles for reading later and the app will feature a built-in browser for reading full text of any news article.
With the app store already flooded with several news aggregation apps, Microsoft’s take on the same idea with text-to-voice service sounds different. NewsCast will only be available for iOS users and this app could well be part of Microsoft’s Garage Project which focuses on building something specifically for Android or iOS platform.
PCWorld reports that the app can be downloaded from this website but it didn’t work when we tried to download the NewsCast app.
