Microsoft's Paint app on Windows 11 has been getting a lot of attention lately. The tech giant recently added a background removal tool and Photoshop-like layers and transparency support. Microsoft has now announced that Paint will soon get a text-to-image generator powered by DALL-E. Called 'Paint Cocreator', the new feature will enable users to create visually appealing artwork by typing in the description of the image they want to generate. In a blog post, the tech giant says the feature will generate three variations of artwork and choose from various art styles like 'Pixel Art', allowing users to choose the style that fits their requirements. Microsoft says it will be applying "content filtering and have other safeguards" to prevent the AI-powered Cocreator from generating inappropriate, offensive and harmful images and optimise how the feature works based on user feedback and real-world use. How to use and sign up for Paint Cocreator To use Cocreator, open Microsoft Paint and click on the 'Cocreator' icon from the app toolbar. It will open a new Edge-like sidebar where you can enter the description of the image you want to create. Once generated, users can simply click on the picture they want to use and start editing in Paint Canvas. However, you will need to sign in with your Microsoft account to use the feature. The tech giant says it is a cloud-based service that uses credits, which are needed to generate images with DALL-E. Microsoft says it will give users 50 credits to start with, with each credit allowing users to generate a new set of images. Currently, the feature is only available in a handful of regions, and interested users need to join a waitlist if they want to try out Paint Cocreator. The tech giant
