Earlier leaks predicted that iOS 17 could focus on stability rather than on adding new features. However, a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that Apple has changed its trajectory and is currently working on adding more features to iOS 17.
According to a tweet by Gurman, iOS 17 is expected to introduce many new “nice-to-have” features that users have requested. iOS 17 has been codenamed “Dawn” and is likely to be available for almost all iPhones that are currently running on iOS 16.
A recent report said that one of the prominent features of iOS 17 will be app sideloading. This feature has always been available on Android devices. However, one could only sideload apps on jailbroken iPhones. Apple could finally allow users to sideload apps on iPhones with iOS 17 without jailbreaking. This is due to pressure from the European Union to offer alternative app stores and provide more choices for users.

With iOS 17, Apple could also enable third-party browsers to access WebKit to improve the internet user experience on third-party web browsers. Similarly, iOS 17 could also add support for the upcoming VR/AR headset — Reality Pro, allowing users to configure and control the device directly from the iPhone.
