Amazon Pay is one of the prominent digital wallets in India. A digital wallet is one of the best ways to make an online payment in India, and it is slightly different from a UPI payment. In the case of digital payment, one needs to preload the wallet, which can then be used to pay at physical stores, hotels, and even on online e-commerce websites. Amazon Pay is one such prominent digital wallet in India, and here is how you can load money to your Amazon Pay account.
First and foremost, you need to have an Amazon account, which can be created free of cost. And if you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you could get additional offers and cashback on select payments you might make using Amazon Pay. Another advantage of Amazon Pay is that it does not fail like a UPI payment.
To access Amazon Pay, you need an Android or an iOS device. Do note that there is no dedicated Amazon Pay app on either of the platforms. Instead, Amazon Pay has to be accessed via the Amazon app. While you can load money from a PC, to spend it at a store, you do need a phone.
Do note that, unlike UPI, you won’t be able to make payments to every vendor who uses apps and services like Google Pay, Paytm, and PhonePe. When you load money into an Amazon Pay wallet, you can either spend it on Amazon or pay a vendor who accepts Amazon Pay.
Amazon Pay is available on both Android and iOS Amazon app.
One can load money to Amazon Pay using credit, debit, and even using UPI.
As of now, Amazon does not charge anything extra to load money to the Pay account. If you happen to load Rs 1,000, the same will be deducted from your bank account. And once you add money to the Amazon Pay wallet, it cannot be transferred back to your bank account.
