Google I/O 2016: Details regarding the availability of Mi Box in the US and other market will be released soon, said a Xiaomi release.
Xiaomi, which has been itching to enter the US market, may finally get a foot in the door with the Mi Box, its new 4K set-top box powered by Android TV.
Along with the availability of the Mi Box in the US, Google VP Clay Bavor announced at the annual Google I/O conference keynote that Xiaomi will be one of Google’s first Android partners to commit to making Daydream-ready devices in collaboration with Google. Daydream is Google’s platform for high performance mobile VR, built on top of Android N.
The Mi Box is a sleek device with an award winning design which comes with a rich library of content with thousands of movies, shows and games from Google Play, YouTube and other apps. Xiaomi has sold over 10 million smart TVs and set-top boxes in China since 2013.
