Google Discover, the AI-powered feed that shows personalised content like articles, videos and other media based on user interests, is getting two new features that will make it easy for users to explore new content.
In a blog post, Google announced that the Discover feed will soon show “new content, formats and features.” In the next few weeks, the tech giant will start showing more types of content like posts from Instagram, YouTube Shorts and X from publishers as well as content creators from across the world, with support for more platforms coming later.
Google says that it made the decision after “people told us they enjoyed seeing a mix of content in Discover, including videos and social posts.”
In addition to this, users can now further personalise their Discover feed by following their favourite publishers or creators using the newly added “follow” button, which is located in the top right corner. You can also tap on the publisher’s or content creator’s name to see a space for their content, where you will get the latest updates from their socials and articles before deciding if you want to follow them. However, you will need to sign in using your Google account to use the aforementioned features.
Google Discover already shows personalised content for millions of users worldwide, but the new update will make it handy for people to get updates from the creators and publishers they like. Last month, Google rolled out an update that enabled users to pick their “preferred sources” for search results. If you want to avoid seeing clickbait content and stick to reliable sources, here’s how to add them.
