Blind, a US-based anonymous workplace community app known for promoting workplace transparency, was launched in India Monday.

Following its official launch in India, the platform aims to assist Indian professionals by providing quick access to vital career information while also addressing social issues through active user participation.

“Blind has proven to be a driving force for change, transforming workplace challenges—from excessive working hours to wage inequality and discrimination—into tangible reforms across companies worldwide. Our platform increases transparency and access to information by enabling professionals to share crucial career insights. Our latest launch will extend Blind to users in India, allowing them to join this global movement and become part of our journey to improve corporate culture,” Sunguk Moon, CEO, said in a press release.

The app, on which 90 per cent of Meta, Uber, PayPal, and Capital One employees are already onboard, is already available for download via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for free.

Blind serves as a platform for employees to exchange information related to job opportunities, workplace culture, and career advancement without revealing their identities.

One of Blind’s key features is protecting user anonymity, and the platform does not store any personally identifiable information on its servers, and no user’s identity has ever been disclosed. Powered by patented technology, users must sign up using their work email, after which they can engage in both public and private forums within the app to discuss work-related matters.

Blind is known for breaking news about layoffs at major companies, including Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, in 2023. The app also helped bridge the information gap for immigrants on work visas who were at risk of losing their legal status in the US by enabling users to share referrals and job openings with fellow professionals.
