Amazon launches Fire TV Stick 4K for Rs 5,999, now available for pre-order

It also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos audio. Compared to the last-generation Fire TV devices, the company claims that the Fire TV Stick 4K is almost 30 per cent faster. Fire TV Stick 4K packs a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and works with Wi-Fi 6 router and allows users to watch content on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.

The new Fire TV Stick 4K features a low-power mode that can come in handy to save power and reduce your electricity bill in the long run.

The company says the device will be available for purchase on e-commerce platforms like Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay  Sales. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for Rs 5,999 and will start shipping from May 13.

Earlier this year, rumour had it that the Fire TV operating system built on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) might soon get its very own operating system called “Vega OS”. However, with the introduction of the new AOSP-powered Fire TV Stick 4k, it remains to be seen if Amazon’s upcoming devices will get the new operating system.
