According to the WhatsApp update, version 2.18.100 brings support for the bigger iPhone XS Max with its 2,688 x 1,242 screen resolution. Earlier the app was not scaling properly on the bigger screen. The iPhone XS Max is Apple’s biggest screen iPhone yet. The update also include a new feature for voice messages.
Previously when there were consecutive voice messages, a user has to press play on each. Now, consecutive voice messages will play in sequence, and user will no longer have to press play each time. Another new feature is that when a user long presses on a message, a new design appears with the option to reply, delete, forward, copy, star the message.
Earlier, when a user long pressed on a message, a horizontal popup menu would appear on top with all the options. Now, a new vertical menu appears, which hides the background and highlights the selected message. The menu shows the option for star, reply, forward, copy, info and right at the end is the More option. Pressing on More takes the user to the Delete option for messages.

On the Android and iOS versions, a vacation mode has also been spotted on WhatsApp, which will ensure that archived chats do not reappear, even if they are muted when this mode is turned on. Another feature in the works on Android is silence mode, which will allow users to hide the app badge for muted chats and this will be enabled by default.
