Xiaomi Mi Note 2 to come in two variants, one with 2K display: report

The standard variant of Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come with 1080p display and the flagship version will feature a 2K curved display.

Xiaomi will launch its next flagship – Mi Note 2 – in two variants, suggests a report on Gizchina. According to the site, the standard variant of Mi Note 2 will come with 1080p display and the flagship version will feature a 2K curved display.

Earlier leaks revealed Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in three variants – standard, high and top-end. While, there has been no word on the release date, Mi Note 2 could launch in a few months.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2’s top-end version could come with a dual camera setup at the back, Hi-Fi chip and super quick charging feature. It remains to be seen if the new Mi Note 2 also comes with 6GB RAM on-board, like some other recent flagships.

Other specifications include: 12MP dual camera setup at the back, 4000mAh battery and fingerprint scanner. The 4GB RAM + 32GB variant of Mi Note 2 is expected to cost 2499 Yuan (Rs 25,278 approx) and the 6GB + 64GB model will be available at 2999 Yuan (Rs 30,336 approx). There’s also a 6GB RAM + 128GB variant with curved panel expected to launch at 3499 Yuan (Rs 35,394).

The current Mi 5 version available in India has an 820 processor, 3GB RAM, 16 megapixel rear camera with 4-axis OIS and a five megapixel front camera. It features a 5.15-inch full HD display and a curved 3D glass back.

Xiaomi is also working on another variant of its flagship Mi 5 called Mi 5s. The smartphone is expected to hit the markets later this year. A report on MyDrivers reveal Mi 5s could come with a pressure-sensitive display, similar to Apple’s 3D Touch. The high-end Mi 5s will come with 6GB RAM, claims the report.
