
At IFA 2016, Sony has announced its latest compact smartphone, Xperia X Compact. The Xperia X Compact X packs Sony’s superior imaging technology and mid-range specifications in a really compact form factor.
Sony says Xperia X Compact is for those who want the best but not the biggest. Sony Xperia X Compact features a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Sony Xperia X Compact is a Single SIM device with support for expandable storage up to 256GB. Sony Xperia X Compact is 9.5mm thick and weighs 135 grams.
Sony Xperia X Compact also features a 5MP front camera with 1/3.06-inch Exmore RS image sensor and 22mm wide-angle lens with f/2.0 aperture. The 5MP front camera comes with ISO 6400 which Sony says will enable great selfies even in dimly lit conditions.
Sony Xperia X Compact is water resistant like Xperia XZ and features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button like Xperia Z. The smartphone also drops microUSB port in favour of USB-C standard.
Sony Xperia X Compact is backed by a 2,700mAh battery and will be available in mist blue, black and white colour variants. Sony Xperia X Compact will be available starting next week in select markets.
