IFA 2016: Sony Xperia X Compact promises big camera in a small form factor

While those hardware specifications may not sound great, the Xperia X Compact’s biggest trick lies in its camera. The Xperia X Compact gets the same camera as the one found on company’s latest flagship Xperia XZ. Sony Xperia X Compact features a 23MP main camera with triple imaging sensor which combines Sony’s image processor with RGBC-IR sensor and laser autofocus. Sony says the new technology enables the smartphone sensor to judge the white balance according to lighting condition and adjust settings accordingly for intelligent images.

Sony Xperia X Compact also features a 5MP front camera with 1/3.06-inch Exmore RS image sensor and 22mm wide-angle lens with f/2.0 aperture. The 5MP front camera comes with ISO 6400 which Sony says will enable great selfies even in dimly lit conditions.

Sony Xperia X Compact is water resistant like Xperia XZ and features a fingerprint sensor embedded into the power button like Xperia Z. The smartphone also drops microUSB port in favour of USB-C standard.

Sony Xperia X Compact is backed by a 2,700mAh battery and will be available in mist blue, black and white colour variants. Sony Xperia X Compact will be available starting next week in select markets.
