Google’s new Android 7.0 Nougat update has started to roll out for two more Xperia smartphones. In November, Sony had updated the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ to Android Nougat, and now the Xperia X and Xperia X Compact are getting the latest update. Sony made the announcement on its Twitter handle.
The tweet reads,”#Android 7.0, Nougat now rolling for Xperia X & X Compact – rollouts are phased, check locally & watch for the notification.” Sony has clarified that it is rolling out the update in a phased manner and users should check for the notifications on their devices.
Sony had originally begun rolling out the Android Nougat update for the Xperia X (F5121), Xperia X Dual (F5122) and Xperia X Compact (F5321) smartphones earlier last week. It was first reported by Xperia Blog.
Based on the information shared by users, the update has the build number 34.2.A.0.266. The report also stated that the update was live in the following countries: Australia, Latin America, Middle East, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam.

Android 7.0 Nougat boasts a number of new features, including the ability to run two apps side-by-side, improved encryption for personal data and improved battery life.
