The new internet-enabled phone is the latest addition to the company’s existing portfolio of budget phones like the Jio V2 series and K1 Karbonn.
Similar to other phones in the price bracket, the feature phone sports a 2.4-inch screen and also supports UPI payments using the pre-installed JioPay app. On the back, you get a Google Pixel 8-like camera island with an unspecified digital camera and an LED torch. Jio says the 2,000mAh battery can last up to 343 hours on standby mode.
According to the phone’s Amazon listing, JioBharat B1 comes preloaded with applications like JioSaavn. FM radio app and JioCinema and runs on Threadx RTOS platform. The phone supports 23 Indian languages including some regional dialects.
The device weighs 110 grams and comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot that lets users expand the storage up to 128GB. Since it’s a budget feature phone, Jio seems to have locked the carrier, meaning the phone won’t work with other SIMs except Jio. However, the company has clarified that if you have an existing Jio SIM, it will work with the phone.

To enjoy all the benefits of JioBharat, consumers are recommended to go with a recharge plan of Rs 123 or above since Rs 91 and Rs 75 will prevent you from using all services. For the uninitiated, the Rs 123 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 500MB of mobile data for 28 days.
JioBharat B1 is currently available in one colour variant – black and can be purchased from the official website or Amazon for Rs 1,299. In case you are not an existing Jio customer, the company is giving a SIM for free along with the device.
Earlier this year, the company launched JioBharat, a more affordable version of the JioBharat B1 that features a similar feature set but has a smaller battery and display.
