Oppo today unveiled the Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro (review) in India. The company’s latest flagship series is powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7300 Energy chipsets and has an eye-catching design. From design to price to specs, here’s a quick look at everything the new mid-range devices have to offer.
Powered by the newly unveiled Dimensity 7300-Energy chipset, both the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro have a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen. Oppo Reno 12 has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, but the ‘Pro’ version can go up to 1,500 nits and offers Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection.
The Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro have the same 50MP primary camera (Sony LYT600) and 8MP ultrawide lens (Sony IMX355), but the Pro variant gets an additional 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Another difference is that the Reno 12 packs a 32MP selfie shooter whereas the Reno 12 Pro has a 50MP sensor.
is available in only one configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage whereas the Reno 12 Pro comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. These phones are backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.
The company is advertising the Reno 12 series as AI phones. Some notable generative AI-powered features include AI Writer, which can help you write things like posts, comments and captions, AI Speak – which can read aloud any web page and an AI Summary option that can summarise any text and audio recordings.
The Oppo Reno 12 (8GB+256GB) is priced at Rs 32,999 and will go on sale from July 25 while the Reno 12 Pro (12GB+256GB) starts from Rs 36,999 and can be purchased from July 18. Oppo is also offering Rs 4,000 cashback for SBI, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, OneCard, Bank of Baroda, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and DBS Bank card holders.
