
OnePlus will be one of the first companies to launch a 5G-ready smartphone in 2019. OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei made the announcement during Qualcomm’s 4G/5G summit in Hong Kong. Pei has also said that OnePlus and his team had already conducted a 5G test at Qualcomm’s headquarters in San Diego back in August.
5G is set to become mainstream next year and it appears that OnePlus will be one of the first smartphone manufacturers to launch a 5G-enabled smartphone, likely to be called the OnePlus 7. While there is no clarity on its specifications or pricing, but we do know that it will be powered by the Snapdragon X50 5G modem and the latest QTM052 mmWave antenna module that was announced at the company’s 4G/5G summit.

OnePlus’ next flagship smartphone is the 6T, which will make its global debut on October 29 in New York. The high-end phone will likely feature a 6.4-inch waterdrop-like notch, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB RAM, up to 512GB of internal memory, dual rear-facing cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner, Android 9, and a 3700mAh battery. OnePlus 6T will be officially launched in India on October 30. It will be an Amazon exclusive.
