OnePlus 2 launch takes place on July 27 at 7 Pacific Time, which is around 7.30 am Tuesday for those of us in India. OnePlus is also holding a special event in New Delhi to celebrate the launch of its new phone.
So how can users can catch the OnePlus 2 launch, which is taking place via a ‘virtual reality’ event? For starters you need to download the OnePlus 2 launch VR app from the Google Play store. Click here for the link.
You’ll need either a OnePlus Cardboard or the Google Cardboard to watch the event in virtual reality via the app. OnePlus cardboard set is currently out of stock on Amazon, but there are quite a few other cardboard virtual reality headsets available, so if you’re really desperate to watch the event in VR, we suggest you order on quickly from an e-commerce site.

Also make sure the cardboard headset fits the smartphone you have.
For those who don’t have a VR device, worry not. OnePlus says in their forum, “But if you simply find yourself Cardboard-less on July 27th, don’t despair! We’ve also built a Cardboard-free 360 experience, right into our launch app. It won’t be as immersive, but it will still be interactive and amazing.” So there is a going to be VR-free version of the OnePlus launch as well.
The OnePlus 2 will be available via invites only and these are all already live. In order to reserve, an invite users need to join a reservation list and if someone else drops out, then they can get a chance to buy the phone. OnePlus 2 invites will be valid only for 24 hours, says the company. Read more about the invites here.
