Nothing Phone (2a) vs Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Is the new phone worth it?
Confused between the Nothing Phone (2a) and the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus? From camera to price, here's a quick comparison that will help you decide if the 'Plus' is worth the extra price.

Nothing recently launched the Phone (2a) Plus, a new smartphone that looks and feels similar to the Phone (2a). While both devices have a similar design language, Nothing has introduced some under-the-hood changes that make the Phone (2a) Plus slightly better than its predecessor. From camera to price, here’s a quick comparison that might help you decide if the “Plus” is worth the price.
Design and display
The Nothing Phone (2a) and the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus have the same design and look the same, making them indistinguishable from one another. However, one area where these two phones differ is colours. While the Nothing Phone (2a) is available in black, blue and white, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus comes in two colourways – black and grey.

Similar to the Nothing Phone (2a), you get a stripped-down version of the company’s iconic Glyph interface on the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, with the LEDs limited to the upper half of the phone.
Both devices have the same 6.7-inch 120Hz “Flexible AMOLED” screen with a typical brightness of 700 nits. However, users can crank up the brightness to 1,100 nits in high brightness mode, which increases visibility under direct sunlight. In our Nothing Phone (2a) review, we noted that the always-on display is also bright even if you choose to use colours for some elements. and since the screen is the same, this might be true for the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus as well.

Performance
The Nothing Phone (2a) is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset whereas the newer Nothing Phone (2a) Plus features the Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset. The phone maker says that the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus offers 30 per cent more graphical performance compared to its predecessor with the new exclusive Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset offering 10 per cent more overall performance.
Both chipsets are fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm Gen 2 process and have the same core count and GPU, but the MediaTek 7350 Pro-powered Nothing Phone (2a) Plus has a higher clock speed.
Both devices come with 8GB RAM on the base variant, but the recently launched Nothing Phone (2a) Plus offers 256GB storage, which is double the storage capacity compared to the Nothing Phone (2a)’s base variant.

Camera and battery
Once again, both the Nothing Phone (2a) and the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus have the same rear camera setup, but the newly launched phone comes with a 50MP selfie shooter, which is a clear upgrade over the Nothing Phone (2a)’s 32MP front camera.
On the back, you get a dual camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary camera with OIS and Auto-focus alongside a 50MP ultrawide shooter with an FOV of 114 degrees.
In our review of the Nothing Phone (2a), we noticed that the images captured by the phone were over-exposed a bit, but the phone “handled sharp reds and pinks quite well” and had a decent bokeh. Since then, Nothing may have fixed the issues via a software update, but we will have to wait for the review of the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus to know the full picture.
Both have a 5,000mAh battery, but the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus offers supports 50W charging, which is a bit faster than the Nothing Phone (2a)’s 45W fast charging support.

Nothing Phone (2a) vs Nothing Phone (2a) Plus: Is the new phone worth the extra price?
While we have to wait for the review to know the full picture, it looks like Nothing has gone with some improvements to the front camera, processing power and charging speed with the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.
The Nothing Phone (2a) is now available for Rs 23,999 for the 128GB version without bank offers on Flipkart while the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus starts from Rs 25,999 with offers, the extra Rs 2,000 might be worth the extra performance, better selfie camera and slightly faster charging speed.
However, if we compare the 256GB version of the Nothing Phone (2a) with the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, the latter seems to be a better option. But if you are unable to avail discount on the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus, the phone will cost you Rs 27,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, making the Nothing Phone (2a) a better choice among the two.
