Google has brought forth a new mode of in-app search called ‘In Apps’, which allow a user to find content on an installed app for your Android device. This new mode of search will be different from the content search that is presently available on Android, and will let you quickly find content from installed apps. The feature was announced by Google in a blog post.

The new feature can be accessed from inside the Google app on Android, and will allow a user to search content on the device. The In Apps search mode will also work without the Internet. It will allow a user to search for information in contacts, messages, notes and also across some apps like Spotify, YouTube, and Gmail.

This is how Google says you can use the new search mode:

1. Find your contacts and messages – Easily find a contact you are looking for with or the name of a new pizza place that your friend recommended to you last month — just search for pizza and find the message containing the information.

2. Listen – You can even listen to your favorite song or watch a video in one place.

3. Stay organized with your tasks and notes – You can even check off items on your grocery list. Simply search grocery.

Google has said that support for apps like  Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, Glide, Todoist and Google Keep will be coming in the following months. Anything you search in this mode will only be seen in your personal results, and you can control what apps appear by going to Settings within the Google app.
