Gionee today launched its Marathon M5 smartphone at a price of Rs 17,999. The smartphone will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The Marathon M5 is powered by a massive 6,020 mAh battery and the company claims four days of battery life.
The USP of Gionee’s Marathon series of smartphones is battery life. The device supports reverse charging, which means you can use the Marathon M5 as a power bank to charge other devices. However, users will have to buy the reverse charging cable separately.

There is an extreme mode which can boost the battery life even further by restricting access to phone calls, messages, contacts and clock.
Gionee Marathon M5 is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB. It sports a 5.5-inch 720p HD AMOLED display along with a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front camera.
The device supports 4G connectivity on both SIM card slots and comes with IR blaster, which can serve as a remote control for other home appliances. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS sugarcoated with Amigo 3.1 UI.
Packing two 3,100 mAh batteries, the Marathon M5 is heavy and weighs 214 grams.
