BlackBerry Leap has been launched in India for Rs 21, 490. Announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this March, the phone will replace the BlackBerry Z3 and is the new mid-segment smartphone from BlackBerry.
The phone features a 5-inch HD screen powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8960 processor with 2GB RAM. The BlackBerry Leap has 16GB storage with micro-SD support for up to 128GB. The Leap also has an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2800 mAH non-removable Lithium Ion battery. BlackBerry Leap runs the latest BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1.

BlackBerry is also promising 25 hours worth of battery life as well with the Leap smartphone. The Leap smartphone has a 2800 mAh battery. Other features of the Leap are:
Security, Privacy: BlackBerry Leap has support for encryption, built-in malware protection and back-up, wipe and restore.
BlackBerry Keyboard This is a touchscreen smartphone but BlackBerry says their keyboard lets users type faster and more accurately as it learns how a user writes. It also has multi-language support.
BlackBerry Blend: This is BlackBerry’s answer to Apple’s Continuity features as it will allow users to bring messages and content on the BlackBerry smartphone to their computer, tablet.
BlackBerry Leap supports two app stores which is the BlackBerry World aimed at productivity and the Amazon Appstore that lets users get popular Android apps and games.
With the Leap being priced at Rs 21,490, BlackBerry is going for the mid-budget range of smartphones and hoping that the full-day battery will help woo the professional users. The new BlackBerry Leap smartphone will be available beginning May 12, 2015.
