Not only can tablets help you organise your thoughts and notes better than traditional notebooks, but they also help reduce waste by cutting down on papers. If you are looking to buy a new tablet for your kid to take notes and play games on, from budget to mid-range, here are some of the best tablets under Rs 50,000 you can buy.

Want a large screen device without spending too much? The Lenovo Tab P12 (review) might be a good choice. Featuring a huge 12.7-inch 3K IPS LCD screen and powered by the Dimensity 7050 chipset, the screen size is perfect for taking notes, multitasking and watching videos.

Lenovo Tab P12 comes with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, with the latter currently selling on Amazon for Rs 26,999. However, you will have to separately buy the Lenovo Tab Pen Plus for Rs 3,999.

Looking for a tablet under Rs 30,000 that can do it all? Check out the Xiaomi Pad 6, an 11-inch Android tablet powered by the tried and tested Snapdragon 870 chipset. While Xiaomi’s user interface may not be as feature packed or intuitive as others, the tablet has received the HyperOS update, which enhances the overall user experience.

However, the Xiaomi Pad 6 does not come with a stylus in-box, but you can buy them from as low as Rs 1,5000. While the base variant that comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage can be purchased Rs 26,999, but we recommend going with the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, which costs Rs 2,000 more. For taking notes, you might have to buy the Xiaomi Smart Pen (2nd gen) separately, which can be purchased separately for Rs 5,999.

Apple iPad (10th generation)

The only good Apple tablet priced below Rs 50,000 is the iPad (10th gen), which was launched back in October 2022. While you can also buy the iPad mini (6th gen), the small screen might not be ideal for taking notes during classes.

Featuring a 10.9-inch LCD screen and powered by the Apple A14 Bionic chip, which made its debut on the iPhone 12, the iPad (10th gen), the iPad (10th gen) might not be the fatest Apple tablet, but it does serve as the entry point for people to experience the Apple ecosystem. The iPad (10th gen) is one of the best tablets for studying in its price bracket when paired with the Apple Pencil or any other pressure sensitive stylus. While the 64GB storage variant can be purchased for Rs 32,900, the 256GB version is selling for Rs 49,900.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Launched in 2022, the Galaxy Tab S8 still remains one of the fastest tablets in India under Rs 50,000. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, the Android powered tablet sports an 11-inch 120Hz TFT LCD screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The device is snappy even if you open multiple apps at once and comes with S-Pen in the box. If you often find yourself taking notes or recording lectures, the feature packed Samsung Notes app is one of the best note taking apps available in the market.

If you are looking for a tablet to study, take notes, and play the latest games and money is not an issue, the Galaxy Tab S8 is the best tablet under Rs 50,000. The base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB is currently selling for Rs 50,998 but you might be able to buy it at a lower price during sale or with bank offers. However, if you are want a bigger display and don’t care about playing the latest games, the Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus is a good option.

Redmi Pad Pro (launching soon)

Xiaomi recently announced that it will be launching the Redmi Pad Pro 5G in India on July 29. Rumour has it that it will be a rebranded version of the Poco Pad, which was launched in China earlier this year.

The tablet is said to offer a 12.1-inch LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate and run on HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. Featuring the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, the tablet has a 10,000mAh battery. Redmi is also said to make the Redmi Smart Pen available, but it is still unclear if users will have to buy it separately. 

While there is no official news about the price, the tablet is said to cost under Rs 30,000, making it a viable option for those on a budget. If you can wait a few more days, we recommend checking out the Redmi Pad Pro.
