Despite its dated design, the iPhone SE 3, launched in 2022, is still the go-to iPhone for many users. This could be the last iPhone with the home button, a staple on iPhones ever since the original launched in 2007. According to the latest report by Bloomberg, the upcoming iPhone SE 4, speculated to launch in early 2025, will look drastically different from its predecessor, while maintaining the style of the latest iPhones.

The iPhone SE 4, code-named V59, will serve as the entry-level iPhone with an affordable price tag. With an updated industrial design, the iPhone SE 4 will feel like a significant upgrade over the iPhone SE 3, in terms of both features and design.

With an edge-to-edge display, similar to the iPhone 14, the iPhone SE 4 will also mark the end of the home button with a small notch at the top to house the Face ID hardware. Not just that, the iPhone SE 4 is also said to be powered by an A18 chip, onboarding Apple Intelligence, making it as capable as the iPhone 16.

The iPhone SE 4 is said to be based on the iPhone 14 (review) chassis, with a few changes including a USB-C port, action button. It might also get a single 48MP camera at the back.

The iPhone SE series phones always borrowed design from the previous-generation models. The first one was based on the iPhone 5S, followed by the second and third-generation models that mimicked the iPhone 8, featuring a glass-sandwich design with a home button at the front.

The iPhone SE models carried a sub-$500 price tag. Considering that, the iPhone SE 4 will be significantly cheaper than the iPhone 15, despite being a lot more powerful.

Along with the iPhone SE 4, Apple is also expected to introduce next-generation iPad mini and iPad Air models early in 2025. Just like the current iPad Air lineup, the upcoming variants will come in two sizes code, named J607 and J637, possibly powered by either an M3/M4 chip. Besides, Apple might also refresh the iPad mini with an M series chip along with Apple Intelligence.
