For more than a decade, Apple has been making what might arguably be the best portable device for productivity. If you are looking to buy one of the best tablets, Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro is a solid contender. The much-anticipated tablet has been in the news for quite a while now. From a bigger and brighter screen to an upgraded chipset, here’s everything we know so far about the iPad Pro (2024).
Bigger and brighter screen
Several tipsters, including known Apple analysts like Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo have predicted the Cupertino-based company is planning to launch the new iPad Pro lineup with an OLED screen, which will be the first for the series. If true, the iPad Pro 2024 will be significantly more expensive than the existing products.

Rumour also has it that Apple will launch a 13-inch variant of the iPad Pro, which is slightly bigger than the sixth-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. However, the smaller iPad Pro model will have the same 11-inch screen.
Upgraded chipset
The upcoming iPad Pro models are also expected to feature the M3 chipset – the same SoC that powers the latest vanilla Apple MacBook, Pro and Air models. While the current M2 chip is not slow by any means, the recently unveiled M3 chips are one of the most powerful SoCs available on the market.

Launch date and price
Apple often refreshes its iPad lineup every year, but 2023 was the first time in over a decade the tech giant did not unveil new tablets. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple had initially planned to unveil the new iPad lineup sometime in March, but now it looks like the company pushed the launch date to May as the software isn’t ready for general usage.
If the new iPad Pro models come with an OLED screen, Apple might significantly bump up the price. While some rumours say the tech giant will reportedly almost double the price of the new iPad Pro’s, recent leaks hint that the price increase will be limited to $160.
This means the 11-inch iPad Pro will start from $959 (approx. Rs 80,000) while the larger iPad Pro will cost you $1,259 (approx. Rs 1,05,000)

Revamped Magic Keyboard
It looks like the Magic Keyboard is also getting an update. According to Mark Gurman, the upcoming iPad Pro will function and look more like a laptop when paired with the new Magic Keyboard.
The revamped Magic Keyboard is said to feature a larger trackpad than its current iteration and is rumoured to be made from a new material that makes it more premium.
iPad Pro 2024: Should you wait for the upcoming Apple tablets?
If the rumours about the bigger and brighter display are true, the upcoming iPad Pro models will be one of the biggest upgrades to the lineup in years. The latest iPad Pro, powered by the M2 chip was launched in 2022, so if you are looking for a highly capable productivity device that will last you a few years, we recommend waiting a few weeks and purchasing the new iPad Pro.
