For users who are already on the iOS 17.5 update, the latest iOS 17.5.1 update is around 315 MB in size. According to the official changelog, “This update provides important bug fixes and addresses a rare issue where photos that experienced database corruption could reappear in the Photos library even if they were deleted.”
The update is available for iPhone XR/XS and newer models that claim to fix the bug which made deleted photos, which are as old as three years, resurface on iPhones. Users, who are yet to update to iOS 17.5 can now directly install this version and make your iPhone secure.
The iOS 17.5 was a major update from Apple, which introduced new capabilities on iPhones, including games via the New+ app besides the aforementioned bug. Similarly, in the European Region, the update also enabled web app distribution, which allowed developers to distribute their apps directly from the website, and allow users to download and install the same outside the App Store.
Apple is currently said to be working on iOS 18, the next version of its mobile operating system, which will be demoed at the upcoming WWDC 2024 developers conference on June 10. The update is expected to deliver a UI overhaul, and is also speculated to introduce new generative AI features within the first-party app. Apple is also said to be in talks with Google and OpenAI to integrate a chatbot within the core system.
