Only a few days left for the world to embrace Apple’s next generation of iPhones, and users can’t seem to be more excited. The Cupertino-based tech giant is known to be heavily guarded about its innovations, and this is why we rarely see any official information ahead of time. This year too, as we await the iPhone 16 series, more and more tipsters and Apple enthusiasts are flooding the Internet with speculations on what will constitute the next iPhone - the holy grail in the world of upcoming smartphones. While we have extensively covered all the leaks and rumours surrounding the iPhone 16 series, something that caught our attention recently was a report that surfaced earlier this year. Based on the report, the storage capacity of iPhone 16 Pro models will be double their maximum capacity, offering 2TB worth of storage space. This, if true, could be a big leap in terms of the storage capacity of high-end iPhone models. Until now, the iPhone Pro models have had only 1TB as the upper limit. A report attributed to news aggregator yeux1122 on the Naver blog said that iPhone 16 Pro models will feature double the maximum storage capacity when compared to iPhone 15 Pro models. This change is reportedly attributed to reports in January that claimed Apple may switch to higher-density Quad-Level Cell (QLC) NAND flash memory for its higher storage models. If the report is true, Apple’s use of QLC NAND could allow it to fit more storage into a smaller space. It is also comparatively cheaper than Triple-level Cell (TLC) NAND flash memory. The same report also said that the QLC has slower read and write speeds. The biggest iPhone ever? Storage aside, there are also reports claiming that the top-of-the-line iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport a massive 6.9-inch screen contrary to the 6.7-inch on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The device will likely use an enhanced OLED panel with LTPO technology that supports variable refresh rates. The bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro Max are reportedly the thinnest ever on an iPhone. On the performance front, iPhone 16 Pro Max may purportedly come with an A18 Pro chip with an enhanced CPU and GPU along with extra cores for enhanced performance. The camera island is said to resemble the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it will likely feature a 48 MP wide-angle lens, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle and a 12 MP telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom. Reportedly, the new iPhone 16 Pro Max may come with a 4,676 mAh battery which is essentially five per cent bigger than the one on iPhone 15 Pro Max. All the above information is based on reports on the internet. Apple has not divulged any details about the upcoming smartphone line-up. While some of these reports could be true, we recommend you to wait for the Apple event on September 9 to know all the details straight from the horse's mouth.
