Diablo IV, the latest instalment of the popular dungeon crawler, is Blizzard’s fastest-selling game of all time. Blizzard, has, however not revealed sales numbers. Since its early launch on June 1, the game has been played over 93 million hours, combined. The game’s predecessor, Diablo 3, which released in 2012 and sold more than 3.5 million copies on its first day.

However, Diablo III was only available on the PC at launch, with the developers bringing the title to consoles like Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox later a couple of years later. Compared to its predecessor, the recently launched title is available on PC as well as consoles like the PS, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Windows.

Set 50 years after the events of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, the new game opens with the summoning of the Daughter of Hatred – Lilith, who is back in the mortal realm of Sanctuary.

It offers a wide range of character customization and lets players personalize the skill tree.  Diablo IV players can choose from five classes – Druids, Rogues, Sorcerers, Barbarians and Necromancers. Players can choose to either pursue Lilith or level up and explore five regions with over 120 dungeons and numerous side quests.

After completing the main storyline, players can engage in end-game activities like Helltide, Nightmare Dungeons and an updated Paragon Board system that lets you customise your adventures. Diablo 4 also lets you collect legendary rewards with Whispers of the Dead and battle against others in Fields of Hatred. The game supports cross-platform and cross-progression on Windows, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 and supports 4-player co-op mode.

This is a huge feat for Blizzard, which already offers popular titles like World of Warcraft and Overwatch. The Standard version of Diablo IV can be purchased for Rs 5,599, whereas the Deluxe and Ultimate editions are available for Rs 7,199 and Rs 7,999 respectively.
