The 3M anti-glare screen cost Rs 1,600
If you are someone like me who has to spend over 12 hours in front of a computer screen every day, you should get something that offers a layer of protection to your eyes. Over the years I have suffered from a variety of eye issues caused by staring at the screen for many hours, often without even blinking for minutes end.
For the past week I have been trying out a 3M Anti Glare Screen on my 14-inch office laptop. The screen has to be picked according to the screen size and device type. It is easy to stick to the screen and can be removed without much hassle.
3M claims the screen “provides display protection and viewing enhancement for electronic displays by reducing glare and mirror like reflection”. Sitting right under an office light I have to agree that the matte finish of the screen definetely eliminates all types of glare on the screen. I am note sure it reduced stress on the eyes, but it does feel easier on the eyes in the past. I am not sure if this is more psychological.
The good thing is that the screen works well even with touchs screens as it is non-conductive. It is also scratch resistant, which means your kid cannot damaged the screen trying to write on it with a ball point pen. Plus, unlike other anti-glare screen this one does not come with a frame and sit directly on the surface of the display.
However, at Rs 1,600 the screen seems a bit pricey. But then a lot of us might just be willing to pay that price.
