IE 800
German audio brand Snnheiser on Tuesday launched a portable in-ear headphone IE 800 and headphone amplifier sets HDVD 800 and HDVA 600 aimed at the audiophile segment in India. The IE 800 is priced at Rs 54,990, while the HDVA 600 and HDVD 800 is priced at Rs 1,19,990 and Rs 1,59,990 respectively.
IE 800
The IE 800 is powered by extra wide band drivers. With a diameter of just 7 mm, it is the smallest wide-band sound transducer currently available in dynamic headphones. The company promises that its functional principle guarantees distortion-free sound even at high sound pressure levels.
Sennheiser claims the housing is made of scratch-resistant, skin-friendly ceramic, while the ear pads consist of skin friendly silicone, thereby ruling out any risk of allergies or skin irritation. It provides users with two adapter options: oval (SM/ML) and round (S/M/L).

HDVA 600
The headphone amplifiers from the company can be connected with headphones using a normal 6.3 mm jack plug. On the HDVD 800 digital sources are connected to the rear of the unit as an AES/EBU input or S/PDIF (optical and coaxial).
The digital version has an extra USB input, which offers 24-bit data transmission at 192 KHz.
The HDVD 800 comes with a switch at the rear of the unit that provides simple swap of the amplifier output to the audio input voltage.
HDVA 800
A glass panel embedded in the aluminium housing of the amplifier gives a clear view of the interior of the devices.
The rotary potentiometer is mechanically connected to the volume control by a 150 mm long shaft. It has the cooling element -the audio relay and countless MELF resistors for the amplifier.
