The Lenovo Yoga series has been refreshed ahead of IFA 2016 in Berlin. The company showcased a Yoga 910 laptop with the latest Intel 7th generation processor as well as a YogaBook 2-in-1 device with a new touch-based Halo Keyboard. Lenovo’s Motorola arm also announced the new Moto Z Play smartphone as well as a new camera MotoMod with Hasselblad branding at the event. The Yoga 910 follows the design language of the Yoga 900 laptop, and comes with the same metal hinge we have seen in the Yoga 900 series. The laptop’s metal hinge allows a user to turn this laptop 360 degrees, and the premium version has a 13.9-inch 4K edge-to-edge display - there’s a 1080p version as well. The Yoga 910 will challenge the Dell XPS 13 thanks to the display. It has the following dimensions: 323 x 224.5 x 14.3 mm. Lenovo’s new laptop will come with Intel’s latest 7th generation Core i7 processor, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD. There’s also a fingerprint scanner and support for Windows Hello. Yoga 910 laptop has JBL Stereo Speakers with Dolby Audio Premium support. The battery life promised is 10.5 hours with the UHD display, and 15.5 hours with FHD display. The Yoga 910 will use WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.1 for connectivity. It will have one USB 3.0 Type-C port with Video-Out, one USB 2.0 port with Type-C charging support and one USB 3.0 with Always-On Charging Audio. It has a 720p webcam with dual-microphone. The Yoga 910 will cost $1299, and will be available in October this year. Lenovo also introduced a new 2-in-1 called YogaBook, which has quite an interesting concept thanks to the Halo Keyboard. The touch-based keyboard lights up when the user needs it, and can be hidden in case the user wishes to switch to the Real Pen. The YogaBook will come in both Android and Windows 10 OS options, has a 10.1-inch full HD display (capacitive touch supported) and runs an Intel Atom x5-Z8550 Processor (2M Cache, Quad-Core, Up to 2.4 GHz) 4GB RAM+64GB storage as will offer WiFi and LTE options. It also has a similar hinge as the Yoga 900, which connects the display and the keyboard. But the YogaBook’s highlight is the support for the Real Pen, which has an Ink Pen support and a regular stylus. Wacom is providing technology support for the Ink Pen and essentially a user can write on a piece of paper with the Real Pen, and the Lenovo YogaBook will digitise their notes. Then there’s Halo Keyboard, which lights up and appears when a user doesn’t wish to use the Pen mode. Lenovo claims accuracy on the touch-based keyboard is comparable to an actual 12-inch full size keyboard. Lenovo also says the device uses predictive text and AI to help improve typing on the device over time. The Stylus and the Real pen are inter-changeable, and according to Lenovo the Pen has 10mm hover detection, meaning a user can keep a fairly thick notepad on the device and then continue to write, and the tablet will still detect the text. A user can take a regular notebook to write via the Real Pen as well. Lenovo has priced the product at $499 for the Android version, while the Windows 10 version will cost $549. Lenovo also introduced a more budget friendly version of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 style tablet called Miix 510, which has metal hinge stand similar to the Surface series. The Miix 510 is a Windows 10 device with a 12.2-inch full HD display, up to sixth generation Intel core i7 processor, a maximum of 8GB RAM+1TB PCIe SSD. It also has a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera and comes with integrated Dolby Stereo speakers. Dimensions of the Miix 510 are 300 x 205 x 15.9mm with the keyboard attached, but the battery life promised is just 7.5 hours. This also has support for Lenovo’s Active Pen stylus. The price for this product is $600 in the US, and this too will start shipping in October. There’s also a new Yoga Tab 3 Plus, which has a 12.2-inch display with 2K resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB RAM+32GB and a Type-C USB charging port. The battery is 9300 mAh on the Yoga Tab 3 Plus and Lenovo is promising 18 hours usage time for this. The new Yoga Tab 3 Plus runs Android 6.0 and comes with dual-SIM support. It has JBL Speakers on the front, and a Type-C USB charging port. Pricing for the Yoga Tab 3 Plus is $299. Lenovo has not confirmed when these products will be introduced for the Indian market, though it has indicated the Moto Z series with MotoMods could come by October.
