Kantara 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Despite commencing its journey with mediocre advance bookings for its opening day, actor-director Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 is currently soaring at the box office, thanks to positive responses from the audience. The film is poised to cross the Rs 400 crore mark globally any day now. Meanwhile, on its first Monday in theatres, the action drama minted more money than what Salman Khan’s Sikandar (2025) made on its release day (Rs 26 crore) in the domestic market.

On October 6, Kantara 2 recorded an India nett collection of Rs 31.25 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, taking the total to Rs 256.5 crore. Although this marked a 50.40 per cent dip in its daily earnings compared to Sunday (Rs 63 crore), it’s still far more than what movies like Chhaava (Rs 24 crore), Saiyaara (Rs 24 crore) and Coolie (Rs 12 crore) — which rank above Kantara 2 in the list of highest-grossing Indian films of 2025 — earned on their corresponding first Mondays in theatres. Interestingly, Kantara 2’s Monday collection is 10 times that of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Rs 3 crore) and 19 times that of Dhanush’s Idli Kadai (Rs 1.6 crore), which released alongside it.
