At its 47th AGM, Reliance unveiled JioBrain, a new AI service platform that promises to offer powerful generative AI models at the most affordable prices, according to Chairman Mukesh Ambani. The company also announced plans to build a “truly national AI infrastructure” and “gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres” in Jamnagar, powered by Reliance’s green energy.
“Our goal is to create the world’s lowest AI inferencing cost by leveraging our infrastructure, networking, operations, software, and data expertise, in collaboration with global partners,” said Ambani. He emphasised that AI services must be accessible on all devices and hosted within India to ensure security and privacy.
Reliance also introduced the concept of connected intelligence, powered by the Jio AI Cloud, which stores data and delivers intelligent, personalised solutions via the network. Jio users will receive up to 100 GB of free cloud storage, with additional affordable storage options available starting this Deepavali.
To meet the growing demand, Reliance is developing multiple AI inferencing facilities across the country and partnering with global leaders to bring the latest AI innovations to India. Ambani spoke about several applications of AI, including inventory management for retail, disease diagnosis in healthcare, personalised entertainment experiences, in agriculture, and AI Teachers in education, aiming to make high-quality education accessible and affordable for all.
