Perplexity AI, the company known for its conversational search engine powered by AI, has launched its app for iOS. Now, iPhone users will be able to use the Perplexity AI app to do searches on the internet.

iPhone users can now simply search about anything under the Sun with the Perplexity – Ask Anything app. It is essentially ChatGPT but with voice search capabilities and added citations to search results. And, the best part is that it is completely free.

Users can now ask anything – input a question, a topic, a name, or anything about which they want to learn more. Perplexity – Ask anything also allows users to ask follow-up questions to continue learning about their preferred topic.

One of the most unique parts of the app is that it allows users to search with their voice. Another distinction is that it lets users see the source of the information that is emitted onto the screen.

The application is backed by the combination of AI and internet search that deliver information along with sources. Besides, the app also shows new popular questions every day. Users can also keep their thread history making it easier for them to pick up from where they left off.

Perplexity AI is a San Francisco-based startup that has been in the news for offering a new model of conversational search. Even on the website, users simply need to ask any question, and Perplexity responds with short answers generated by its AI along with citations.

On March 28, the company raised USD 25.6 million in funding which was led by New Enterprises Associates, to create a rival to Google search.
