ChatGPT now available on WhatsApp and landline phones for users in US, Canada

OpenAI on Thursday made a big announcement for its users in the United States of America and Canada – that they would now be able to talk to ChatGPT even on flip phones and fixed landline phones by dialling 1-800-CHATGPT for up to 15 minutes per month.

This makes accessing ChatGPT much easier than ever before. Talking to ChatGPT on a phone line does not require an additional subscription or even an account. Users can ask personal queries, and ChatGPT can also help you learn about new phrases in different languages. It offers a natural language voice exchange experience.

How to use ChatGPT on WhatsApp?

Users in other countries can now access ChatGPT directly from WhatsApp by texting the phone number 1-800-242-8478.

Just like using ChatGPT on the dedicated app, ChatGPT on WhatsApp can also answer all the queries. However, to use advanced capabilities like image generation or voice mode, one still needs to access ChatGPT from either the web or the official app.

OpenAI has confirmed that, in the coming days, users will also be able to authenticate with their ChatGPT account on WhatsApp and the service will also gain additional capabilities such as chatting with images and web search.

Right now, WhatsApp users can access all these features using Meta AI, which also lets users generate images and talk to popular AI characters.
