Adobe Firefly, the generative AI-powered content creation tool from Adobe, has announced its global expansion to support over 100 languages, including eight Indian regional languages such as Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.

This means that users across the world can now generate images and text effects using their native languages as text prompts in the standalone Firefly web service. The service will also be localised in 20 languages with versions in French, German, Japanese, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese available now.

Firefly is a product of Adobe Sensei, the company’s artificial intelligence and machine learning platform. It allows users to create images, vectors, videos and 3D models from simple text descriptions. Users can also use Firefly to remove or add objects to images, apply styles or textures to words and phrases, generate colour variations of vector artwork and change the aspect ratio of images with a single click.

Firefly was launched in March as a beta version and has since been integrated into Photoshop, Express and Illustrator, helping customers build their creative confidence and save time. According to Adobe, Firefly has been used to create more than a billion images and text effects making it one of the company’s most successful betas ever in just over three months.

“Today’s announcement is about making Firefly accessible to more people in their preferred languages, so they can continue to leverage our unique model to bring their imagination to life, and create the highest quality assets that are safe for commercial use,” said Ely Greenfield, CTO, Digital Media at Adobe.
