This has been a dream debut for Vyshak picking up David Warner, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav. He is a positive for RCB going forward in the tournament. Pandey played a lone hand in this innings and eventually perished to the leg-spin of Hasaranga. Nevertheless, he played an excellent inning. He has run hard between the wickets and scored boundaries whenever needed. From here in it seems like there is only one team that can win this one. The Capitals are now looking at five defeats in five games this might be the game where they might feel playoff chances for this season might be done.  After 12.3 over Delhi Capitals 81/6 

Debutant Vyshak picks up Axar Patel, DC six down. The left-hander trying to keep up with the rate perishes. He might still be among the top handful of run-getters in this edition of the IPL, but the impact he is supposed to have at the top of the order is lacking. Granted that the frequent wickets at the other hand have not helped his cause, but a great player is expected to rise above such obstacles. The struggles of the team may also have something to do with the captain's own frustrations, which have come to the surface from time to time. On Saturday, it seemed, for a moment, that he may be able to lead the charge for his faltering team, when he hit a few vintage pulls, drives and flicks, before becoming pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak's maiden IPL wicket. Harshal Patel picks up Abishek Porel. The left-hander trying to clip the ball on the leg-side gets the leading edge. It was vintage Harshal Patel's slower one where the ball suddenly dips. Hasaranga is brought into the attack for the first time this season. He was treated with a sumptuous boundary by Pandey. His four overs would be crucial for Delhi Capitals. Pandey is known to be an excellent player of spin. With his experience can he take the Capitals close in this game? Faf du Plessis went to Shabaz as their first spinner here. His primary role would be to continue to build the pressure which has been created by the seamers early on. This wicket has helped the spinners in the first innings. RCB would be hoping to get in all their spin options and bowl out DC here and improve their Net Run Rate which has been dented against KKR in the earlier games. After 7.1 over Delhi Capitals 47/4 

Debutant Vyshak picks up David Warner, DC four down in Powerplay. The DC skipper trying to pull the ball hits it straight to Kohli. This has been a disappointing performance from the Capitals so far once again. After the bowlers did their job the batting unit just did not turn up. It has been a story of their campaign were people have performed individually here and there but as a collective there has been nothing.  After 5.4 over Delhi Capitals 30/4

David Warner despite being one of the top scorers this season has been criticised for his strike rate. However, the Capitals keep losing wickets at the top again and again which begs the question of how else can Warner bat. It seems like he has to play here for survival again rather than looking at the target and attacking bowlers at this point in time. He has a very good company in Manish Pandey. Tushar Bhaduri: It's easy to be wise in hindsight but Anuj Rawat's introduction as the Impact Substitute didn't quite go to plan for RCB. The hosts were progressing smoothly at one stage before losing three wickets at the same score to be floundering at 132/6 in the 15th over. Worried that they might be bowled out inside the 20 overs for a woefully inadequate total at the batting-friendly venue, they went for the wicketkeeper-batsman who plays for Delhi in domestic cricket. A steady hand was needed, but they got a pedestrian one, with Rawat managing 15 off 22 balls with just one boundary, which almost brought the RCB innings to a grinding halt. The think tank would be regretting the move as they had capable batsmen in Wanindu Hasaranga and Wayne Parnell in the starting XI itself, who could play to the demands of the situation. RCB were now also bereft of a bowling substitute, with pacers Akash Deep and David Willey  as well as leg-spinner Karn Sharma staying in the dugout. After 4 over Delhi Capitals 12/3

Mohammed Siraj picks up Yash Dhull. This has been an excellent start for RCB as they have picked up three wickets in the Powerplay defending a mediocre total. However, it has been RCB's story as well picking up wickets early and then losing their way in the middle overs to finally lose the game. This has been the story of Capitals in this year's IPL. They keep losing wickets up at the top and Warner with the help of some other batter has to rebuild the innings. Brilliant start for RCB. Delhi Capitals lose their first wicket. Shaw trying to take a quick single gets himself runout at the non-striker end. Anuj Rawat dives and stops the ball and hits the stumps all in one motion. Brilliant piece of fielding this by Rawat. He could not do much with the bat but in the field he made an impact in the very first over.  After 1 over Delhi Capitals 1/1

The wicket was on the slower side, so I tried to hit the right areas and right lengths. I threw a few wide balls against Virat bhai. He (Maxwell) was going really well, I believed in myself, so I got him out, and next ball even got DK (Karthik) out, pulled the game back in our favour. Just trying to bowl in the right areas, if you do that, you'll get wickets. 175 is a good total as the pitch is on the slower side. Need to keep rotating the strike, especially against the spinners.

It has been a poor batting display by Bangalore given the way started Kohli batted early on. Delhi Capitals spinners have bowled nicely on this surface. They kept chipping in with wickets throughout the game not allowing RCB to get away from the game. RCB sent Anuj Rawat as an impact substitute when they lost four wickets in quick succession scoring only 15 runs and taking 22 balls. Delhi Capitals on the other hand would be pretty happy with the way transpired so far in this game and they would be hoping to take away two points from RCB's fortress.

Nihal Koshie: Glenn Maxwell was ticking along well and finding his range by moving around the crease and targeting the straight boundaries. The middle overs are when Maxwell usually gets going and he was looking threatening while unfurling sixes. But the RCB innings sputtered as they lost three wickets in three balls. DRS replays showed that Harshal Patel got a faint edge though there were spikes before and when the ball crossed the bat. But it was Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav who put the brakes on the RCB innings and got rid of Maxwell. The Australian fell while trying to tonk a full-length ball on leg stump but the ball ended up in David Warner's hands at extra cover. The next ball Dinesh Karthik tried to clear mid-wicket with a flat batted shot but found the fielder. It was a period when RCB went 16 balls without a boundary and lost three wickets. Kuldeep once again was effective finishing with figures of 2 for 23 from his four overs.  After 20 over Royal Challengers Banglore 174/6 

After having a fantastic outing against the Mumbai Indians in the previous game. The left-arm seamer has been taken apart today. On a surface which is on the slower side, one would expect his cutters and variations would have been handy. However, on the contrary, the batters have taken a liking to his pace and his variations do not seem to stick on the surface. After 19 over Royal Challengers Banglore 166/6 

RCB would still be looking to get over 180 runs. This surface unlike the previous one seems to assist the spinners a little more. With the likes of Hasaranga, Shabaz and Glenn Maxwell as their spin options, RCB is well-equipped to bowl on this surface. RCB have been forced to bring in an impact sub because of the collapse of the middle overs. Anuj Rawat a left-hander has been sent into the middle here. Have they played their card too early here as they still have Wanindu Hasaranga in the dugout who can bat a bit? They chose not to send him and use their substitute. First, it was Harshal Patel followed by set batter Glenn Maxwell and Dinesh Karthik RCB lost three wickets in no time. The side looking good for anything over 180 runs to now have a task of batting 20 overs now as the momentum has completely swung now. Mitchell Marsh picks up Mahipal Lamror. Apart from the bowler no body appealed and seemed to be interested however, Warner trusting his bowler went upstairs were the Ultraedge showed a spike. The South African quick bowler is brought back into the attack to pick Glenn Maxwell. The Australian explosive batter in the past has been known to have struggled against extreme pace and short-pitch bowling. Both the openers had shown the intent to get going — Kohli pummelling Anrich Nortje for consecutive fours through the off side and then du Plessis riding his fortune to find two fours against tricky fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. But the Delhi Capitals spinners kept both the experienced batsmen in check. Tall left-arm spinner Axar Patel kept firing it with the angle to cramp the batsmen for space with just 5 runs coming off his first over and seven in his second. Off-spinner Lalit Yadav gave away just four runs off his first over, the last of the Powerplay. This was after du Plessis had smashed Mitchell Marsh for two consecutive fours. But another attempt, a very robotic stroke to clear midwicket was brilliantly caught by Aman Khan on the second attempt. 14 dot balls, six fours and a six were not too bad for the Powerplay. A brilliant half-century from Virat Kohli trying to continue the momentum perishes. He tried to loft Lalit Yadav into the longer part of the ground and gets caught on the boundary. Nevertheless brilliant innings from the opener. He kept going even after the Powerplay, unlike the previous game where he slowed down after the first six overs. Both Kohli and Lamror are rotating the strike nicely and scoring an odd boundary which is keeping the rate good enough for now. If they can bat this way for another few overs then they can launch from there. Kuldeep Yadav this season has not looked as threatening as he did in the last season. Kuldeep Yadav and Lalit Yadav are operating in tandem here. It seems like the surface is on the slower side as both batters find it challenging to time the ball. Kohli is looking to build a partnership with Lamror here and lay a solid foundation for the power hitters to follow. One side of the ground is smaller than the other hence Warner has to be spot on which spinner he uses from which end. Interesting phase for Virat Kohli on how he will go on from here on. A much needed breakthrough for the Capitals who seem to just chop and change their bowlers and see which works rather than a side who have come with a plan. Axar Patel has been brought into the attack to make a breakthrough here. However, he has not been successful. It has been a tale of his bowling since last year. He has not been able to pick wickets despite being economical which is a huge concern for Warner. Mitchell Marsh is now brought into the attack. Warner has not brought in Mukesh Kumar yet who has taken the new ball in all the games so far. Seems like a change in tactic from Delhi Capitals. With two left-handers in the middle David Warner has gone for Axar Patel with the new ball. It is a sensible move since the surface here in Banglore sometimes can grip in the afternoon games. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis walk out to a loud cheer here at Chinaswamy. The duo has been in excellent form so far this season. Delhi Capitals led by David Warner would be looking to break this opening partnership as early as possible. There has been plenty of discussion about the rate at which the Banglore openers have scored their runs. We have to wait and see how they will go today. Will they start quickly or be more cautious.

Would have done the same. Hopefully it will turn in the second innings. This stays a good wicket generally. Will be important for me and Virat to assess the conditions early. It's difficult to defend in death overs. We have been good at our home ground as a batting unit. You got to pick your best batters and bowlers. Hasaranga comes in for Willey.

We are going to bowl first. The ground looks incredible, credit to the staff here. It's about getting one win, the momentum follows from there. We don't want to lose wickets in the powerplay. We have change. Marsh comes in for Powell.

Captains might be looking to field first here despite being extremely hot. It is very to difficult at this venue to defend totals given the dimensions of the ground and the surface. It is easy to have a total in front and chase rather than being in a dilemma of what is a good enough total to defend. 

We're playing at the pitch number 8 and the square boundaries are at 61m and 66m while the straight boundary on one side is 70m. The average 1st innings score in afternoon games here is 157, it looks dry and there shouldn't be a lot of lateral movement

Royal Challenger Banglore has the upper hand over Delhi Capitals winning 17 games to DC's 10. In addition to that RCB has not lost their last three encounters against DC. The visitors have to play out of their skin if they have to get to two points from here. 

The pitch in Banglore traditionally has been known to be excellent for batting. The smaller dimensions here in the ground have always aided power hitters. In the previous game here the likes of Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran for Lucknow Super Giants have shown how easy is it to hit sixes at this venue. Being an afternoon game the pitch may start off a little slowly under the scoring heat however, as the evening progresses under lights it may get excellent for batting. 

In all areas, if we can just get 5% better every game and build it up and get some momentum on our side, I think that's going to be crucial. Just to get that going and to be able to compete properly against everyone, to get some wins under the belt.

I think it's too early to put that kind of a gun on the middle-order, we've batted only once in the tournament [against KKR]. So it's too early to say we've to do something different. Hopefully, we'll get our chances soon and do good for the team.
