Former India all-rounder Yusuf Pathan was the recipient of the Man of the Match award in the inaugural final in 2008. Steering Rajasthan Royals to victory, Pathan cracked a half-century while also chipping in with three wickets against the Chennai Super Kings. Interestingly, India spin legend Anil Kumble is the only player to win the Player of the Match (PoTM) award in a final while ending up on the losing side.
Kumble had produced a magnificent spell of 4/16 for RCB in the 2009 final against Deccan Chargers as his team ended up short by six runs.
