Trisha has been the announced as Player of the match and tournament for her 309 runs and seven wickets

Indian batter Trisha Gongadi has created record on Tuesday by become the first U-19 player in Women’s T20 World Cup to score a ton. The right-hander got his blistering ton against Scotland in the Super Six round stage of the tournament.

Trisha has got to the landmark in 53 balls in 18th over. The previous highest score belonged to England batter Grace Scrivens who scored 93 against Ireland January 2023 in Potchefstroom. (Read more)

Sanika drags one through square-leg to help India win by nine wickets. India won the second tournament in a row now. This time they have just looked a lot better. The way they have played through the tournament not losing a single game they have set the standard. As per South Africa, there is plenty of work to be done. They have done well to come to this point but on the day of the final, they just met a team which was too good for them.

Well, water break. India needs 12 runs to win however, its just matter of time here. South Africa have been completely blown away in this game. At no point today they have looked like they can do it. When compared to skill set Indian side just looked far superior than the South African team.

India can see it. They are almost on the verge of winning here. They have bowled exceptionally well to lay the foundation for this win. And now Trisha Gongadi with her attacking play took the game away from South Africa and killed any hope they had. After winning in 2023 and they are on course of winning today Indian cricket seems to be in good hands.

Trisha pummels another FOUR and brings up fifty for India. All too easy at the moment for India as the batters rotate strike with ease.

Trisha is batting splendidly here. This is how she played through the tournament. Take the game away from the opposition in the Powerplay and then settle after the first six overs.  As we update Reyenke picked up Kamilini. South Africa celebrate they still believe they can turn this game around.

This is exquisite batting from the Indian openers. They are going after South African bowlers. We have seen in the first innings how Indian bowlers were taking the pace off and targeting the stumps. While South Africa is having their moments in the middle which are half chances India in between those moments is scoring boundaries and eating away at that score.

We are underway here and India has squeezed seven of the opening over. When Trisha cut one of Nini there was an opportunity however, South Africa opted to have one and a half slip and the ball went through the middle. Both Trisha and Kamilni are pretty attacking players and if not picked early this run chase can get over pretty quickly.

Sisdoia gets the final wicket of the last ball of the innings. South Africa lost three wickets in the Powerplay and since that point, the innings have gone nowhere for them. There were a few partnerships in the middle however, they got squeezed under the pressure of Indian spinners. It should be an easy chase for India unless South Africa bowlers step up.

South Africa has lost two more wickets since the last update. First, it was Trisha who cleaned the stumps of Naidu and then Vaishnavi Sharma came in and tossed one up and Cowling dragged one on which is followed by Legodi getting bowled. One of the key aspects of Indian spinners in this game has been their ability to hit stumps almost every ball.

Cowling and Voorst are bulding a nice partnership here. They have also got a nice rate going. As we update Voorst departs. G Trisha picks another one. The batter tried to charge down but gets beaten in pace and keeper takes the bails off. Everytime South Africa looked like they were getting some momentum they lose wicket. As we update Trisha picked Naidu.

The conditions have favoured the Indian side but the South African team needed to play smarter cricket. They have chosen to attack at the wrong moments in the game and hence lose wickets. With their current scoring rate, it seems highly unlikely they will even get to 100 runs. Plenty will depend on how the spinners operate in the second innings for South Africa.

First, it was Reyneke after facing deliveries threw it away and then it was Meso who played an ugly swipe against Ayushi and missed the ball completely. Two batters who have consumed deliveries and have got an understanding of the pace of the wicket have now thrown it away and South Africa now has to do it all over again.

Reyneke departs to Trisha's leg-spin. The skipper got impatient and tried to break the shackles however the ball took the bottom edge and the ball went straight to long-on fielder Sisodia. South Africa has now lost four wickets and all the hard work by the previous partnership is now gone in vain. 

Water break it is and it has been India's first 10 so far. Reyneke and Meso are batting in the middle but they are struggling to find score runs against the Indian tweakers. It is not just the accuracy of Indian spinners but also the variety they possess. Every spinner India has offers a different threat.

Spinners have been difficult to hit for South African batters. The Indian spinners at this age just seem to be highly skillful and the pitch too seems to be a touch slow. While until both sides have batted it is hard to predict what a good score is at this point if South Africa can get to 120 they might have a fighting chance.

This is a terrific powerplay for India they have contained South Africa nicely. They have bowled tight lines and also mixed up the pace nicely with spin. This is not the position South Africa would have liked to be in after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Indian fielding is something which has to get better as innings goes on.

India picks the second one. Botha tried to wack Kamilini on the off-side and got the outside edge to the keeper who took an excellent catch diving to her right. As we update Aayushi has picked up the third South African batter. It is Ramalakan. It was an arm-ball and the batter did not read it well and shattered the stumps. 

Sisodia picked up opener Laurens. It was a wicket-to-wicket delivery in which the batter tried to work on the leg-side and missed. The leg stump got rattled. This is what the doctor ordered for India in the game to get a wicket early in the piece after South Africa opted to bat first. South Africa needs to be wary of Indian spinners here.

Joshitha up with the new ball for India. Jemma Botha and Simone Lourens are out in the middle for South Africa.

Joshitha with a sharp delivery down the line first-up but follows up with a couple of wayward deliveries down leg and outside the off-stump. Joshitha pushes one into the slot and Botha opens her account with a brilliant slog down the ground for FOUR. She angles the ball into the pads and Botha unleashes a firm flick through the square for another FOUR.
