Ravindra Jadeja and Anshul Kamboj are the wicket-takers for India.

India has made three changes in the side with Sai Sudharsan, Shardul Thakur, and Anshul Kamboj, who have come in for Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Akash Deep. As per England, they had to replace injured Shoaib Bashir with Liam Dawson.

IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: ENG 225/2 trail by 133 runs vs IND in Manchester
That's stumps, and it is England's day. They had the favour of the conditions too to be fair to them. When the day started, the conditions were overcast, and they could take the new ball, and when they came to bat, things got easier, and also India did bowl quite poorly. England must get a good chunk of lead as things stand. India on the other hand especially the seamers do have a lot to improve upon. While Anshul Kamboj did pick a wicket he has had a boundary ball in him every over. So did Siraj and Shardul Thakur which is not acceptable at this level. That's it from us folks we will be back tomorrow do join us.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Testing over
That was testing over from Bumrah to Joe Root. It is that incoming ball which Root has always had trouble against, and Bumrah has been quite sharp to exploit that aspect of Root's game. He did not start well, Bumrah but as the day went on,; he got better and better. There is still a lot India can improve upon, it has not been their day. Their batters have not converted the scores the way they should and the bowlers did not get the areas right as they should either. However, if Bumrah can pick Root in the final moments of the day that will be a huge boost for the Indians.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Bumrah back
Jasprit Bumrah is back into the attack. 20 minutes remain. As per ICC, five overs can be bowled, but given how these things and time wasting shenanigans go, we might have four overs unless Gill decides to bring in a spinner from the other end. He is bowling from the end. Jadeja has bowled is Bumrah, which is a bit of a strange call. He could have kept Jadeja bowling, who was troubling Ollie Pope quite consistently. Will we see Sundar too in the final stages of play, or will he keep going with Kamboj to close the day? We have to wait and see. Regardless only positive for India tomorrow is bowling can only improve from here.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Ben Duckett departs
Ben Duckett is gone here for 94. It was a wide delivery which Duckett tried to cut however, there was a bit of extra bounce, and the ball carried to keeper Dhruv Jurel, who took a nice catch. This has been good 45 minutes for India since the drinks break, they have been able to create those wicket-taking deliveries. And congratulations to Kamboj on his maiden first Test wicket. Joe Root has walked into the middle, and we might see a change in bowling. Jaspirt Bumrah against Root is a match-up and the bowler did have had the better of him way too often.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Kamboj back in
Kamboj has come back into the attack he had time to reassess and get hold of things he would be hoping to get things right in this spell however the problem with the ball as old as it is now is he wont get the moment and he is not quick enough hence he has to be pinpoint accurate and even then some of these English batters might go after him. It might be just his first game, but it is a huge learning curve for him. One big step up from domestic cricket to international cricket is getting rid of that one loose delivery, which they do get away at the domestic level.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Bad day for Siraj
Siraj has bowled quite badly here today. That has been the story of his series. There have been spells that have looked million dollars and have had spells such as these. It is not that batters are being hyper attacking against him, but he is just bowling too many loose deliveries. Usually it is the other way with him, where he tries to hit his mark, and batters proactively try to get the better of him, but today he just has not hit his mark. As the second senior bowler, he needs to be tighter. We might see a better version of him tomorrow.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Jadeja picks Crawley
Ravindra Jadeja struck after the break and picked up Zack Crawley. It was a no-ball from Jadeja, which meant he had to bowl the extra delivery and picked the wicket of Crawley. The batter tried to come forward and fend it, and the edge carried to KL Rahul, and slip it was kind of how Yashasvi Jaiswal got out in the first innings to Liam Dawson. There is the breakthrough India is looking for now, it is time they get control of things. They can start by avoiding that one customary boundary ball per over that they have made a habit of doing in this innings.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Water break
The pacers have been dealt with quite easily by the England openers here, and the spinners have to come up with something. The way things are going, it is England's day. Unless in the next hour India can pull off 2-3 wickets in a cluster to turn the tide. It has been a testing passage for Shubman Gill, the captain who has had quite a decent start as a Test leader; however, what today is manifesting are the days which he is going to see more often than not at least in overseas conditions and how he counters them will define him as the captain in future. The good thing is he has time in his hands to improve.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: 150-run stand
Ben Duckett pulls one, and that went for a boundary. It is hard to remember when Indian bowling has been this bad as a collective. In Adelaide at BGT, they had Harshit Rana going for runs, and in South Africa, in Centurion, Prasidh has had an off day. But here today, all the bowlers are taking a pasting. Every bowler used has managed to bowl one ball in that over which has been able to be squeezed for a boundary. Well, there was quite a bit of excitement for Anshul Kamboj's debut. At this point, it is not something he would have dreamt of.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: LOOOOOONG session
This is turning into a long session here. Goodness, when India came into bowl, they would have had some optimism, and the way things went in that hour or so in the afternoon, and the way things are going in this session this is running away pretty quickly from India. There are still 90 minutes of play left in the day, and this could seriously hurt India and the confidence of the bowlers. Well Shubman Gill might have better days in future but the way this is shaping up, this can go horribly wrong for him. He needs his bowlers to respond he is bringing in the changes but there just is no respite.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Siraj and Jadeja in
Shardul Thakur has been taken out of the attack, and Mohammed Siraj has been brought back into the attack. While all the bowlers are getting a fair crack with this new ball, none of them looked as effective. Maybe Bumrah in this spell was better than the opening one, but he tried to crank the pace up instead of looking for a moment. He has already bowled 10 overs, and we might not see him for a while. That is a big battle won by England, 10 overs of Bumrah without a wicket is an achievement. As we update, Ravindra Jadeja has come into the attack.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Boundary balls
This is turning into one of those passages of play when Indian teams of the past would have delivered. Since Virat Kohli took over, the way pacers bowled has improved a lot, but today is quite reminiscent of the way India used to bowl in 2011s and 2014s with pacers after bowling a few good deliveries, slip in a poor ball. Shardul Thakur, Anshul Kamboj, Mohammed Siraj and even Jasprit Bumrah in his opening spell have been guilty of the same. It doesn't matter the number of bowling options if the bowlers keep bowling one poor bowl every over that will not let any sort of pressure build and the game will go away.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: 100-run stand
Both openers have put on a 100-run stand here. One thing bowling teams struggle with when bowling to this combination is that both Ben Duckett and Zack Crawley have been quite opposite. One is tall and looks to drive more while the other is short and looks to cut and play his shots more through the square of the wicket, which is problematic for any opposition to adjust, and we have seen Kamboj playing for the first time did struggled a bit with it. While the ball might not be as old but given the way runs are going, it might be time India turns to spinners here.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Racing away
England is racing away here. Zack Crawley is playing some lovely shots. The ball has stopped swinging, and it is getting tricky for the Indian bowlers. The way things look as of now, it might be time Shubman Gill turns to spin for a bit because pace is not having much of an effect as the ball is going in straight lines, and when it was supposed to move, the bowlers bowled all over the place. As we update Ben Duckett has scored his half-century and it has come at a quicker rate than a run a ball. If Crawley is the match-winning one Duckett is the consistent one and he did it again today.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Thakur-Jasprit start session
It is Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah who have started the session. Bumrah has swapped ends here and has started to bowl around the fifth stump channel, which is still a tad bit too wide even for someone like Crawley. He needs to be made to drive on the up; It is those deliveries that he tends to fall to more often than not. It might be a ploy from Bumrah just to keep it there for a while and subtly get close to him, deceiving to drive we have to see. But whatever the correction, so far in two overs India have shown it definitely has come 40-50 runs too late.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Welcome back!
India needs wickets in this session, and they need to get into the England middle order while the ball is new. The way things are going at the moment, if England have a session of what they did in the hour this game might be gone too far from India's grasp in the next session.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: N Jagadeesan into side
Due to Rishabh Pant's fractured metatarsal and Ishan Kishan's ankle injury (from a scooter accident requiring stitches and a plaster), Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper N Jagadeesan has received his maiden national call-up for the fifth Test against England. He is currently awaiting his visa to join the squad. Dhruv Jurel is expected to be the primary wicketkeeper for the remaining matches. (Read more from Venkata Krishna B)
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: ENG 77/0 trail by 281 runs vs IND in Manchester
That is some indifferent bowling from the Indian seamers. The most surprising part of it has been how poor Bumrah himself was to Duckett. He was drifting down the leg-side and let Duckett away, while Crawley did have his moments, since there was not a lot on offer, he has been able to get his innings going as well. The wicket looks very good for batting, and bowling has been quite ordinary, and England are not one of those teams who will let go of opportunities as such, and they punished India brutally. We will be right back and see if there is any change in the Indian bowling approach or will we have a long evening session it does give a vibe of one of those series defining sessions.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Crawley gets going
Well, Zack Crawley is getting his innings going here. He has started to drive on the up, which is his trademark shot through covers. One of the things with Crawley is that if he gets going, he will take the game away from the opposition completely. He played a marathon innings early in his career against Pakistan and also in 2023, Ashed at this very ground. So he has the ability, and the way he started his innings here, it is shaping up to be one of those knocks. India need to find someway to stop bleeding here because too many bad balls are coming and boundaries are coming way too easily.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: 50-run stand
England have got to a flyer here. All the bowlers who have come into the attack for India have managed to slip in loose ones regularly,, which has let the English batters away. As we update, Crawley and Duckett have put on a 50-run stand. Well, this could have gone the other way, but the start from the Indian seamers was not just there; they kept pitching the ball in the wrong areas, and they let the English batters away. The sun too has now come out, and it is looking a bit tricky now for the Indians. Anshul Kamboj has replaced Jasprit Bumrah here. Gill could have given another over to Bumrah with the new ball here.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Siraj into attack
Mohammed Siraj is brought into the attack. It would have been one difficult conversation for Shubman Gill with Siraj not to give him the new ball well, it did not matter much, it still is quite new, and he is brought into the attack. It is always a good thing to get in all the seamers early into the attack and give a fair bite at the new ball. Australia, especially with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins tend to ensure that the first change bowler would come into attack in 7-8 overs. Traditionally be it India or even England for that matter, have been sides that have waited longer to bring in their first change bowlers.,
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Ben Duckett on his way
The Indian seamers have let Ben Duckett go away here. They kept bowling into his pads and let him get a few boundaries away through the leg side. Duckett looks like he wants to attack Kamboj and put some pressure on him. He is also looking to bat outside the crease to negate that swing and seam moment Kamboj is getting. They have gotten away with a good start here in England. Duckett,, especially after a ton in the first Test, he did have had a quiet series, but today he is already into his 20s and is looking good. It might be time Gill should turn to Siraj from Kamboj's end.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Kamboj spraying it all over
It is good for Shubman Gill to give Kamboj the new ball; however, the youngster has been spraying the ball all over the place. He needs to get his head right and start pitching the ball in good areas. It is a new ball and there will be something on offer for his style of bowling, but at the moment he is not there yet. Might not be a bad ploy for Gill to take Kamboj out of the attack for a bit and let him refresh and get him back from Bumrah's end once he is done with his opening burst because this English team anything will lose will punish they won't show any mercy or try and leave this new ball and play that caution game.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Bumrah and Kamboj start
Jasprit Bumrah and Anshul Kamboj have started here. Bumrah, asusual, hit his mark straightaway, and there will be some moments as he keeps bowling. As per Kamboj, he did find the moment straight away, but he kept bowling swinging deliveries which he could not control. A couple of deliveries were drifted into Duckett's pads, which he clipped away for boundaries. He is good bowler is Kamboj his strength is to nibble the ball it might be nerves but once he gets into his rhythm we might see him get into his business of bowling in that box, which keeps creating doubts in a batters mind whether to come forward or stay on the back foot.,
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: India 358 all out vs England in Manchester
Well, Bumrah tried to pull one of Archer and gloved it to the keeper. He was not given out, however, Stokes went upstairs and there was a spike on the Ultra Edge, hence, that is the end of the Indian innings. 358 it is. We will find out if that is enough or not in the next day or so, but it was a kind of batting innings that promised but could not reach its potential. Sai Sudharsan could have batted longer, and so could have Yashasvi Jaiswal. Luckily, the wicket today is moving a bit more than, it did yesterday. We will be right back do join us for England's innings.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Rishabh Pant falls
Rishabh Pant, after scoring a half-century, has fallen here. It was once again that cunning delivery from Archer, which pitched on the middle and moved, and Pant covered the ball for the line, but the ball moved late and took the off-stump away. It was a brave innings from the Indian vice-captain and deserves applause for his courage to walk into the middle and bear through the pain and deliver what he did. Siraj has walked into the middle and England are one wicket away. However, a word of caution these are very tricky conditions to bat and Bumrah with the ball might just bowl one of those spells.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Stokes picks 5-fer
In the same over, Stokes picked up Sundar, and he also picked up debutant Anshul Kamboj for a duck. The ball was pitched in the good length area and kept rising, but the beautiful part of the delivery is the channel he bowled in. He has been quite magnificent. Stokes today has bowled quite long spells and has been able to create the impact. The onus is now on Pant to make the most of the remaining innings. It sort of sets up from him where he just has to keep going after the bowling here. We have seen with Jadeja one end of the spectrum, we might see another end here.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Ben Stokes gets another one
One of the surprising features of this series has been Ben Stokes and his bowling. He is the highest wicket-taker of the season now. What are the odds one would give before the series that Stokes would be the highest wicket-taker? However, he has been quite canny with his bowling. As we update, Stokes has picked up Sundar here it was a short ball which Sundar tried to pull got the top edge straight to fine-leg. He does have that his shot in his armoury does Sundar, but it did not work out for him on this occasion. Well, debutant Anshul Kamboj has walked into the middle.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Archer to left handers
Jofra Archer has been brought into the attack with two left-handers in the middle. As we have seen, he has this magic ability of moving the ball away after pitching on the off-stump. A couple of those deliveries from him did hit the pads and looked close, while the first one, Stokes let it go, but the second one, he did review, and the impact was umpire's call which is what saved him. He is walking on thin ice is Sundar against Archer he clearly is getting squared up far too often against him because of Archer's amazing ability to swing the ball away while angling it in.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Pant walking in
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Welcome back!
The rain has stopped the England team is out in the middle, and so are the English players. We have another fascinating session on our hands, and the most interesting thing to see would be how Pant will bat in this middle phase and how Sundar will navigate this partnership with his running between the wickets.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: N Jagadeesan called up after Rishabh Pant’s injury at Old Trafford
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Day-1 report
Rishabh Pant's toe fracture, which forced him to retire hurt from the Manchester Test, severely impacted India's batting on Day 1. With Pant, India's most consistent batsman on the tour, out of action, England captain Ben Stokes quickly exploited the situation. Just six overs after Pant's departure, Stokes dismissed Sai Sudharsan, India's last specialist batsman, shifting the momentum firmly in England's favor. (Read more from Sandeep Dwivedi)
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Take on selections
Indian skipper Shubman Gill, after a loss at Lord's, decided to make bold changes for the crucial fourth Test, prioritizing current net form over established players. He chose young batsman Sai Sudharsan over Karun Nair, who had struggled to convert starts, and debutant pacer Anshul Kamboj over Prasidh Krishna, due to their impressive performances in practice sessions. This signals Gill's belief in "tweaking a losing side" rather than sticking to the same combination. (Read more from Sandeep Dwivedi)
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: India 321/6 at Lunch vs England in Manchester
Well, there is some news folks it has started to rain here in Manchester, and early Lunch has been taken as we are 10 minutes away from the break. The story of the session is obviously Pant's brave effort to come out to the middle with a fractured leg; however, if we look at the game objectively, India did lose two wickets in that session, and things were starting to go England's way. The break might give time to India on how they want to go about things but, still, England can sense they can bundle out India, how many can India get and will that be enough we have to wait and see. We will be right back, do stay with us.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Hard running
Well, running between the wickets is getting quite tricky for Sundar with Pant here. Clearly, the Indian keeper is finding it very hard to take those singles. It is a brave effort definitely from him to come to the middle, but it is kind of hampering Sundar's innings here, whose entire game is built on knocking those singles around and building partnerships. We have seen this happen time and again. The better way would have been to keep Pant till the end and give him free license to have a go at every ball. At this point this partnership continues to grow like a normal one.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Stokes picks Shardul
Ben Stokes has picked up the wicket of Shardul Thakur. It was a fuller one from Stokes, which Stokes threw his bat at, and the ball took the edge, and the ball was flying through the gully region, and Ben Duckett took a lovely catch diving to his left. And that has brought Rishabh Pant to the crease. He did get a standing ovation as he walked into the middle, as he did break his foot yesterday trying to sweep a delivery against Woakes. While most of them would have thought that was it, but here he is and if he can contribute a quickfire that would do India a world of good.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Solid Sundar
One of the standout features of Sundar is his defensive technique. While his shot playing at the international level is still to be seen but when it comes to leaving the ball and defending, he has looked solid, he has shown both the technique and temperament to deal with any style of bowler or bowling on any style of conditions however, all of his good knocks have come when there is a batter at the other end and he had to build a partnership but the position where he bats in his role will need him to take on the bowling when he is batting with the tail only longer he will play we will find what range of shots he possess.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Carse conundrum
Brydon Carse, who started his Test career well, did taper off in English conditions this season. Especially since picking up the role of first change, he has struggled to find his right lines and lengths. At Lord's on Day-4 evening he did find his rhythm and bowl a splendid spell apart from that he has been either too full or too short and England are quite lucky that Ben Stokes has been able to keep his shape physically and also has been able to deliver with the ball which did save them the blushes as their third seamer constantly have been quite ineffective. ,
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Water break
We are done with the first water break here on Day 2 and it has been England's session, although India have managed to score a few runs. England have the most important wicket of Ravindra Jadeja, who is in form. While the other way of looking at it could be that if you are an England fan is the ball was doing a lot and they could get only one wicket with that new ball. However, we have to wait and see how the next hour will pan out and only come to conclusions. There is a clear steep bounce from one side of the surface which will play more and more of a role as the game keeps going.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Pant in
We have seen the visuals of Rishabh Pant here, which is heartwarming to see after what we witnessed yesterday. The BCCI has given us the update that Pant is not going to keep, and it is going to be Dhruv Jurel, so probably at some point, he might come to bat. We have seen him play a similar role in the previous Test as well, when he had an injury to his hand. As we update, we have had an incident here. Stokes' delivery took off from length, and it did deflect something of Shardul, and Stokes was confident that it was a bat, and he reviewed it however, on the replay it did show the ball hit the shoulder.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Seaming around
There has not been a lot of swing in the morning despite the cloudy nature, but because the ball is new and there seems to be a bit in the wicket, the ball is seaming around a bit after pitching on the wicket. Archer, especially to the left-handers, has bowled it quite full and made the batters play the delivery. As per Shardul Thakur, things have been a tad bit easier. They have been hitting the stumps to him too but the length has been a bit short, but Shardul is a compulsive driver of the cricket ball, and if it is in his area, he will go far. Maybe dangling the carrot is required to him at this stage with the new ball and try and induce that edge.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Start for Shardul
While amidst all the chaos that has been happening, Shardul has gotten himself a start here. He has gone past 30 already and is looking in good touch at least for now. In the past, we have seen he can pull off these counter-attacking innings, which are quite deflating to the opposition, and the way this knock of his shaped up, it does look like one, but he needs support from the other end. Who can forget how both Shardul himself and Sundar came into limelight in Gabba and India, with their current situation would be desperate for their bowling all-rounders to pull of something similar.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Taking it away
Archer did bowl well yesterday, but he was on the shorter side, and there were plenty of plays and misses. Today, Archer pitched the ball further up, and already we can see the results. He has this amazing ability to pitch the ball in around the middle and off stump, and to move it away from there, it is a tremendous skill, and lot of left-handers over the years have struggled against that type of ball. But the execution is the difficult part. Stuart Broad vs David Warner is one of the classic cases. While Warner does have a technical glitch, Broad's ability to bowl that delivery from around the wicket was quite immaculate.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Left-hander replaces left-hander
That was a superb delivery from Archer, the ball pitched and moved away slightly and took the edge of Jadeja, he did get away with a couple in that over itself. Eventually it carried to the second slip, who took a lovely catch diving forward. One left-hander replaces another left-hander here, and Washington Sundar needs to be careful. This opening burst with a new ball is quite a tricky phase for him. It might be better if they play it as a match-up where Sundar will face bulk of Chris Woakes and Shardul plays bulk of Archer and getting through this new ball.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Swing and scalp
Chris Woakes took the opening over to start the day, and it is the brand new ball. It is quite dark out there, but the good thing for India is that the pitch is not as bad as it can be. It is a brownish colour wicket with a bit of green tinge on it, and the ball did not seam much yesterday, but because of the overcast conditions, we might see a little more. Alongside Woakes, it is Jofra Archer who took the new ball from the other end. They have changed the ends here both Archer and Woakes when the first new ball was used, they came from the opposite ends. Archer has already created two edges and both have to carried. As we update Archer has picked up Jadeja.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Let's go!
Like yesterday, it continues to be gloomy here on Day 2. The England seamers might get some help, also England are yet to take the new ball, and the first hour of today might be crucial for determining how many runs India might pile on.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Micheal Atherton on pitch
Four championship games and all four have been drawn. Hard to force a result. Groundsman has left grass on the surface. That combined with the overcast conditions, captains may want to bowl first. However, no team has won a Test here after opting to bowl, ever.

Indian skipper Shubman Gill, after a loss at Lord's, decided to make bold changes for the crucial fourth Test, prioritizing current net form over established players. IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Anshul Kamboj makes debut
“When they asked for a number, everyone was picking their birth date or a lucky number. But I was looking for something unique that will match by name. So I picked 47 because it is also rhyming well…now everyone calls me that,” the seamer had once told The Indian Express.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Liam Dawson's 8-year wait ends
Liam Dawson's Test career began with a bang—literally. His second ball in Test cricket, facing Ishant Sharma at Chepauk in 2016, resulted in a painful blow to his helmet. Despite the early shock, the left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder displayed remarkable composure, going on to score an unbeaten 66 and later telling the media, "Test cricket moves really fast."
However, for Dawson himself, Test cricket would prove to be a slow-moving affair. He played only two more Tests in the subsequent eight months, and then an agonizing eight-year wait ensued. After missing a century of Tests in the interim, oscillating between hope and despair, and even momentarily giving up on a return, Dawson is finally set to play his fourth Test at Old Trafford today, Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Pant injury update
Rishabh Pant, India's wicketkeeper, suffered a toe fracture during the Manchester Test and has been advised six weeks of rest, effectively ruling him out of the remainder of the ongoing series against England. The injury occurred when he attempted a reverse sweep and was hit on his right foot. Although the team management is exploring the slim possibility of him batting with painkillers if needed, he is currently unable to walk without support. Ishan Kishan is expected to be called up as his replacement for the upcoming fifth Test.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 2: Hola!
Hello and welcome to our live blog of the fourth Test between India and England. It is Day-2. We have had plenty of action on Day 1, and the absorbing cricket will continue. The most important news coming out of the Indian camp is no more Rishabh Pant for the series and a certain amount of time to follow. We will give more updates on that as well. The direction of the game do stay with us.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 1: India 264/4 at stumps vs England in Manchester
It has been a day since the scales tilted on either side, and it all depends on Rishabh Pant. He and Sudharsan were batting quite nicely in that evening session before he got injured, and Sudharsan himself made an error in judgment. England, on the other hand, did smell blood when they did get rid of Sudharsan. With the new ball around the corner, the Indian batting was there for the taking. However, the light saved India in the end. Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur are in the middle and they are playing quite well. We will be right back tomorrow do stay with us for all the updates.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 1: No pace
Well, we might not see pace tonight. It seems like the new ball will only be taken in the morning with both spinners operating. Well, as we update, it seems like they have decided it is enough for the day, and both Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja walk back. The last 15 minutes went pretty smoothly for India. A lot of it has to do with Jadeja's question about the light, which made umpires have a look and because of that, it delayed the new ball. Well, is it right on the spirit of the game that could be debated, but for today, India has definitely escaped something which could have gone horribly wrong for them.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 1: Cheeky from Jadeja
That was very cheeky from Ravindra Jadeja. The light was getting dimmer and dimmer since the start of the session, and eventually Jadeja politely checked with the umpires if the light was fine. Though there was no immediate inspection, the umpires had a discussion, and eventually, we had an umpire check. Will England be allowed to take the new ball, or will Stokes will be asked to go on with his spinners for the remaining 19 minutes will be interesting to see. However, whatever it is, it did take away some time from the game.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 1: Killer blow
Sudharsan's wicket is probably the killer blow of this session. Will Pant come out to bat or not? We will only know later, but as of now, things out of nowhere have gone out of India's hands here. It is a learning curve for the youngster. He did all the hard work, and if he could have survived, today three-digit score was there for the taking, but it did not happen. As per the current situation, Shardul Thakur is not someone who is going to play the situation; he will play his shots, and India has to make peace with it. 28 minutes to go. New ball will be taken it can either go boom or bust for India.
IND vs ENG Live Score, 4th Test Day 1: Sudharsan has fallen
Sai Sudharsan has fallen. It was a short delivery from Ben Stokes, who kept trying to pull, and eventually, one top-edge delivery carried to square-leg. His judgment of that short ball has been quite magnificent through the day, but on that occasion it was a lapse of concentration that has cost them. Shardul Thakur has walked into the middle, and India are in a bit of a pickle here. Well, England are having everything going their way in this game thus far. While somewhat might be wondering why Thakur has come above Washington Sundar, it must be to do with breaking the streak of left-handers coming one after the other.
