ICC to start 2023 ODI World Cup ticket sales from Aug 25, semi-final and final bookings from Sept 15

Tickets for the much-awaited India vs Pakistan contest - which has been shifted to October 14 - will be the last to go on sale on September 3 as far as group stage matches are concerned.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced nine changes to their 2023 ODI World Cup schedule including the highly-awaited India-Pakistan contest that’s now been shifted a day ahead to October 14 in Ahmedabad.

The world cricket governing body also made public the details regarding ticket sales for the marquee tournament in October-November in India.

“To manage the expected demand for tickets and to give as many fans as possible the best chance of seeing the world’s best players, tickets will go on sale in phases,” the ICC wrote in their release.

Based on the above, the first set of tickets to go on sale will be from August 25 of the non-India warm up and the main tournament games not featuring the host side. For India’s warm up games in Guwahati and Trivandrum, the tickets shall be available from August 30. For group stage, tickets for India’s games against Australia (Chennai, October 9), Afghanistan (Delhi, October 11) and Bangaldesh (Pune, October 19) will be available from the next day.

Subsequently, the tickets made available on September 1 will be of the men in blue’s games against New Zealand (Dharamsala, October 22), England (Lucknow, October 29) and Sri Lanka (Mumbai, November 2). The final two league stage games for India will be against South Africa (Kolkata, November 5) and the Netherlands (Bangalore, November 12), tickets for which will go online on September 2. And finally, India-Pakistan on September 3.

For the two semi-finals and the final in Ahmedabad, the sales will start from September 15.

The World Cup will begin on October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as the finalists of the 2019 edition – England and New Zealand – square off in the one lakh plus capacitated venue that will also host the summit clash on November 19.
